Existing IssuesIssues within this study area that have been identified include:

• A lack of a safe crossing point to the school along the main desired route – to and from East Acton Station

• High vehicle speeds on East Acton Lane• Poor pedestrian facilities and streetscape in the area • A low number of walking and cycling journeys to the

King Fahad Academy

The ProposalsThe proposals below will address the above issues by implementing the following:

• Narrow the width of East Acton Lane and construct a raised zebra crossing outside the King Fahad Academy and provide a shortened uncontrolled crossing point in the ‘service road’

• Move the inset perpendicular parking spaces near the school entrance onto the carriageway and provide seating on a new footway in its place
