Desert Whale Jojoba Oil + Derivatives is a wide range of high quality, naturally-derived sustainable jojoba products – including DW Jojoba Golden and DW Jojoba Colorless jojoba oil, many jojoba derivatives, and biodegradable exfoliant alternatives to polyethylene beads (see inside table).

DW Jojoba Golden and DW Jojoba Colorless were named jojoba oil, but they are actually liquid wax esters with a unique chemical composition similar to that of human sebum. They are unlike all other naturally occurring oils, such as vegetable oils, which are triglycerides. As a result, DW Jojoba Golden and DW Jojoba Colorless are non-occlusive with superior properties and performance – including non-greasy emolliency, high oxidative stability, excellent lubricity, as well as stability across a wide range of temperatures and in high pressure processes.

LONG-STANDING EXPERTISE IN SUSTAINABLE JOJOBAOver the course of almost 40 years Vantage has built expertise in the

development, production and supply of environmentally-friendly cosmetic

ingredients through green, sustainable

practices. It began in the 1970s when

founders of the Desert Whale Jojoba

Company promoted jojoba oil as a unique

plant-derived replacement for highly val-

ued sperm whale oil – playing a key role

in the introduction + growth of the jojoba

industry, and assisting in the “Save the

Whales” environmental movement.

At the same time, the founders helped in developing jojoba as a re-

newable resource for cultivation on arid lands. The jojoba plant is a

desert shrub native to the Sonoran Desert of the southwestern US

and northwestern Mexico. Jojoba is now commercially farmed on

arid lands around the world, often in marginal soils requiring less

water than many conventional crops, and has no competing

application in food that would affect its availability for use

in personal care and cosmetics.

GLOBAL CUSTOMER SUPPORT Vantage is a leading global supplier of

specialty ingredients to the personal care

and cosmetics market, offering Desert Whale

Jojoba Oil + Derivatives along with many oth-

er broad product lines. In addition, Vantage

offers substantial customer support around

the world – from local technical + commer-

cial teams, formulation labs and warehousing;

to a network of distribution partners; to a

regulatory team based in the US.

Vantage is the largest jojoba grower and producer of jojoba

products – the only vertically-integrated supplier owning

every step in the supply chain, from farming to oil extraction

In fact, with a jojoba farm already operating in Arizona, we

recently expanded our growing capabilities by acquiring a

majority share in Agrinsa, one of the world’s largest jojoba
