WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

You’ll spend two weeks in a workshop that immerses you in American culture as well as American business, strategy and entrepreneurship. Using the Business Model Canvas5, you’ll work in teams as you compete to develop a business concept and pitch your ideas to your workshop instructors, community leaders and investors. Visit McCormick Place, the largest and one of the greenest convention centers in North America, view Chicago’s cutting-edge green architecture and tour innovative green hotels. Extracurricular excursions include shopping at the Rosemont Fashion Show Mall, exploring the city’s museums and Lakefront attractions such as Navy Pier, enjoying the celebrated theater district, and dining at Chicago’s many green-certified restaurants.

Opportunities for excursions will be made available to a few of the more than 100 neighborhoods that make up Chicago’s food scene, 35 summer food festivals and 80 Michelin recommended and starred restaurants5.

Kendall’s School of Culinary Arts in located in the heart of Chicago, one of the world’s most vibrant culinary centers, you’ll be exposed to endless opportunities for learning and growth. Experience firsthand our unique community that fosters diversity, creativity, discipline, caring and passion for learning.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

You will spend two weeks in Chicago increasing your understanding of applied culinary nutrition while being immersed in American culture. Each day during your three hours of hands-on cooking experiences you will build your understanding of the nutritional needs of the aging, athletes, children, teens and vegetarians. You will learn strategies and techniques to address lifecycle and dietary concerns for people suffering allergies, obesity, heart disease, diabetes and hypertension without sacrificing flavor or food quality. Opportunities for excursions and field trips will be made available to a few of the more than 100 neighborhoods4 that make up Chicago’s food scene, 35 summer food festivals5 and 80 Michelin-recommended and starred restaurants6.
