Barclays Capital – DATACENTRE SHIFT MANAGER – 2008Investment Bank

Shift manager responsible for three UK datacentres. Managed datacentre support staff in three locations in London, planned and supervised installation of new kit, trained new staff and ensured all activities complied with the bank’s stringent controls.

Worked closely with Crisis Management Team during datacentre power outage ensuring that all services were resumed within twelve hours and bank suffered no loss of revenue.

Burlington Resources – 2ND/3RD LINE IT SUPPORT ENGINEER 2003-2007Independent US Oil Company

Supported all aspects of Canary Wharf office IT system (software, hardware, printers, Blackberries, telephony, servers, routers, patching, backups, AD) and was technical lead for all projects in UK, Algeria and Egypt.

Supported Algiers office and provided ad-hoc onsite support for the production site and operations base (in MLN and Hassi Messaoud respectively.) Derived extremely beneficial experience of being sole IT engineer in isolated, environmentally hostile environment.

Planned and implemented XP rollout to 4 Algerian sites. Delivered project on time with 50% of expected resources.

Led XP project in London and Barrow which involved building images, performing scheduling and supervising rollout. Project was delivered on time with minimal disruption to 100+ user base. Achieved business continuity of London site in 48 hours after severe flooding disrupted all data and communications. Eliminated need for use of costly disaster recovery facilities.
