Stabilized Blocks using Rice Husk Ash and Portland Pozzolona Cement (FLYASH based) and its Application as Wall.

G.N.V.KAPARTHI 12011D2006Under the guidance:Dr. MAGANTI JANARDHANA M.Tech(STRUCT).,PH.D.(IITM)1ABSTRACT The provision of good quality housing is recognized as an important responsibility for welfare of people in a country. A question of evolution of the use of bricks was partly based on their estimated properties, applied building techniques and on the characteristics of brick production. In this investigations, the agricultural and industrial residue rice husk ash into the Soil and Portland Pozzolona Cement (FLYASH based) stabilized blocks are studied. However there are undesirable properties such as loss of strength when saturated with water, erosion due to wind and/or rain or poor dimensional stability.

Introduction Materials: Soil, Rice Husk Ash, Portland Pozzolona Cement (FLYASH based). Evolution of Blocks and its application as load bearing wall will be carried out. Stress-strain behavior of a prism made using these blocks. Also Wet Compressive Strength test will be conducted. As there are many pozzolonic materials available around us, among them Rice Husk Ash is one of the Pozzolonic material.Apozzolanais a siliceous or siliceous and aluminous material which, in itself, possesses little or no cementitious value but which will, in finely divided form and in the presence of water, react chemically withcalcium hydroxideat ordinary temperature to form compounds possessing cementitious properties.Fly ash based cement: Fly ash may be used as prime material in blocks, paving or bricks, however on the most important applications is PCC Pavement use a large amount of concrete and using fly ash provide great economic benefits.

Coal fired powder plants produce fly ash proving an excellent prime material used in blended cement, mosaic tiles and hollow blocks among others . Fly ash has also been recently for providing roads, and as embankment and mine fills Present StudyStabilized Soil blocks are locally available.

Highly Reactive Rice Husk Ash is an excellent Pozzolanic material.

About 20 million tons of Rice Husk Ash is produced annually Worldwide.
