They performed at most significant domestic, European and international festivals and made quite a carrier. Lets mention just a few of them: Roskilde in Denmark, Fusion Festival in Berlin, Pepsi Sziget Festival in Budapest, and EXIT in Serbia. In 2006 and 2008 they went to USA, where they played at some of the most significant clubs like “Joe’s Pub” in New York. The producer of both of their albums is Mike Nielsen, who is famous for his work with biggest names in the musical industry: Underworld, The Cure, Jamiroquai, Snow Patrol, etc. On the prestige World Music Chart Europe, both of their albums won the first place. Kal is the only band from the Balkans who was chosen among 1000 bands to perform at Fairs of World Music – WOMEX, Spain, in 2006.

KAL is a young band with high rock’n’roll content, driven by dance beats and rooted in the Balkan blues. Through their creativity and ability to throw contrasting sounds together and by refusing to play by the ‘rules of the folklore’ ‘KAL clearly belongs to the gypsy tradition in the Balkans and cultural Rom activists of the twenty-first century. KAL exudes both values of pride and ethnic togetherness. The band is forward looking, but embraces at the same time the thousand year old lungo drom (long way), an attitude to life that resolutely stands its grounds in today’s constantly changing ‘Now-Europe’. Although terms such as ‘involvement’ and ‘commitment’ in this postmodern era sound perhaps old-fashioned familiar KAL clearly wants to make the difference in this world.

Kal is an urban Roma band from the one of the Belgrade suburbs. The musical style that band created, western music critics named “ROCK’N’ROMA”. And this is probably the best description of their music. From 2006, when they first started playing, they had more than 400 concerts abroad.
