K Red Class News K Red have had a wonderful start to the term

and have learnt so much already! They have

been on a number of number hunts and are

starting to explore numbers 0-10 in depth, with

concrete materials. Can you believe that they

amazing achievements:

Lacey Smith – freestyle

Savanah McLaren – butterfly

Kayden Wilson – backstroke

Jade Lynch – breaststroke

Cooper James, Aidan Lucas, Aiden Bush & Marshall Ford

Good luck to all our representatives, we are extremely

proud of you all!

Uniform Our school uniform policy requires students to wear

the agreed school uniform, as a result of whole school

community consultation. This is in line with the School

Uniform Policy required by the NSW Department of

Education. The department supports the wearing of

school uniform, which promotes a sense of belonging

for students and creates a positive identity for the

school community. School uniforms also contribute to

the personal safety of students by allowing easier

recognition of students inside the school and in the

community. Our current uniform requirements are as

follows:

GIRLS Summer Uniform

- Sky blue tri-colour polo style shirt - Grey skirt/skort or grey rugby knit, cotton or cord shorts (No ‘trendy’, baggy style or below knee) -White socks, black shoes or suitable sneakers on PE days. Winter Uniform -Summer uniform to be worn with navy tracksuit OR -Sky blue long sleeved polo style shirt -Sky blue long sleeved skivvy Sports Uniform -Yellow polo style shirt -Maroon pleated skirt/skort or maroon rugby knit or cotton shorts (No trendy styles) -White socks and suitable sneakers Sports Winter Uniform -Navy tracksuit -Yellow long sleeved polo style shirt -Yellow long sleeved skivvy BOYS Summer Uniform -Sky Blue tri-colour polo style shirt -Grey shorts - grey rugby knit, cotton or cord (no ‘trendy’, baggy style or below knee) -Grey socks, black shoes, suitable sneakers on P.E. days Winter Uniform -Summer uniform to be worn with navy tracksuit or grey long pants OR -Sky blue long sleeved polo style shirt -Sky blue long sleeved skivvy Sports Uniform -Yellow polo style shirt -Maroon rugby knit, cotton or nylon shorts (No trendy styles) -White socks and suitable sneakers Sports Winter Uniform -Navy tracksuit -Yellow long sleeved polo style shirt -Yellow long sleeved skivvy

Whilst there has been some confusion over sock

colours, our uniform policy states that either white or

grey socks are acceptable. Discussion was raised at the

P&C meeting regarding black socks, but presently black

socks are not part of the school uniform. Plain white or

grey socks are school uniform.

Our school has a second hand uniform pool that is

available to assist families with uniforms if needed. Any

donations of uniforms that are still in good condition are

always greatly appreciated and can be sent into the

office.

If you are experiencing difficulty with uniform

expectations, please contact the school and we can see

what assistance is available to you.

School Photo Day School photo day is next Friday,

6th March. Photo envelopes for

each student have been sent

home with students and spare

envelopes are available. Family

photo envelopes are also

available at the office.

Students will be required to wear their normal school

uniform on this day, rather than their sport’s uniform.

We will remind you of this throughout next week.

P&C News The P&C Annual General Meeting will be held on

Tuesday, 17th March, from 6pm, in the school staff

room. All executive positions and sub-committee

positions will be declared vacant at the meeting and

elections will be held during the meeting. Proxy

nominations will be accepted; however, proxy votes will

not be accepted. The monthly P&C Meeting will be held

immediately following the AGM.

Pelaw Main Rugby League Team Last week, Pelaw Main competed in the Mark Hughes

Sheild at Kurri Kurri Sportsground. They had a very

successful day winning the Division B Sheild! Both teams

should be extremely proud of themselves, they played

exceptionally well and displayed great sportsmanship

throughout the tournament.

Year 6 EOI Forms A few weeks ago, Year 6 children were given their Expression of Interest Forms for High School. We still have a number outstanding, please ensure these forms are filled out and returned to the office ASAP as the cut of date is the 13th of March.
