Hi Folks It’s pleasing to see so many new people coming through the door for dance lessons. Our new dance format seems to be working well. Remember we start at 7.15pm with 4 or 8 step, then at 8pm we have rockabilly lessons. Work on our updated website is progressing very well. Hopefully it will be up and running very soon. The updated version will be easy to navi-gate and more informative. Thanks to Janelle and Stacey for taking on the task of getting this newsletter out, as our newsletter editor, Jay is in Melbourne on family matters. If anyone has photos from Just Rock functions from the last couple of years, Esme Mander would appreciate it if you could get them to her for a slide show we will have running on the night of our Birthday Bash on the 14th July this year. Tickets for the Birthday Bash Dance are available from Debie Hood on lesson night or contact Debie on 0415 455 145. Tickets are being pre sold as there are a limited number of tickets for sale. Members $20 – non members $22. Enjoy your time at Wintersun 2.0, Cooly Rocks On and/or Beachfest, stay safe and keep on dancing! Don’t be afraid to wear your Just Rock Ipswich Shirt! Did you know: That dancing and learning different dance routines stim-ulates the part of the brain that dementia stems from. It is proven to be better than routine exercises. A Dog’s Life: Dogs never talk about themselves but listen to you while you talk about yourself, and keep up an appearance of being interested in the conversation. Keep on dancing. Cheers Bev

VP CAR CRUISE REPORT
Hi JRI Cruisers The May car cruise went very well with very good attendance (20 members enjoyed another great day). We departed from the Park in Hunter Street, Brassall and headed off for the short drive to our destination for morning tea at Kholo Botanical Gardens. Bit of amusement on the way as Luke and Narelle led us on a bit of a detour (missed the turnoff), so the 5 minute drive was a little longer. This provided for some friendly conversation and banter while we enjoyed our morning tea. After morning tea we headed off for our drive to Laidley and the Eagle Rock Café. The café had their Sunday entertainment with the band Coops De Ville playing some great music for us to enjoy and dance. Everybody had a great time and really enjoyed the music and tasty lunches. There will be no car cruise in June due to a lot of our members attending “Cooly Rocks On” at the Gold Coast. The next car cruise will be in July and we will provide details in next month’s newsletter. Hope everybody is enjoying life and as always I look forward to catching up with everybody at dancing or our car cruises very soon.

Hello Dancers,
We wanted cooler evenings for lesson and dance nights and we've got it. Lesson attendance is average and students are having their co-ordination tested with 4-step, 8-step and Rockabilly lessons. The teachers are doing a commendable job. On May 19th we hosted A Band Called Twang and they had the floor rockin’ all night. Thank you to all who brought along supper, we appreciate the goodies we get to eat. The surprise royal wedding decorations on the night went over very well with all our members. Thank you to our members who decorated the dance hall. The May Social dance with Johnny Gray left people with an idea of what Rock And Roll music was like to listen and dance to years ago. He's still got it! Due to many teachers and members being away with Cooly Rocks activities there will be no lessons on Monday 11th of June. The Social dance on the 18th June will have Kevin Smith as the entertainer. We look forward to seeing everyone back after their rocking adventures away at Coolys and Beachfest. The Dance Demo at the Fine Iron Car Show was very successful. Dancers backed-up after the Social (the night before) with a Band Called Twang and performed half an hour of fine dancing on Breakaways Dance Clubs new dancefloor organized by Fine Iron Hot Rod Club. Breakaways will also be suppling their new dance floor at Back to 63 Car Show & Shine. Keep well, may see you at Cooly Rocks.
