This team offers home bible studies, hospital and home visits, shut-ins visits, baptisms, and any encouragement needs. This team also offers

general maintenance duties - such as minor home/yard work and heavy lifting.

SUNDAY MORNING: Bible Classes at 9:15a.m. with Worship Service to follow - we offer classes for all ages. Donuts and coffee are provided in the kitchen before and after class. We also

have headsets for Spanish translations during Worship Service.

CHILDRENS BIBLE HOUR:

Bible Hour for young children is located in the large classroom next to the kitchen. An announcement will be made to dismiss the children to the classroom.

SUNDAY EVENING SMALL GROUP STUDY:

LADIES’ TUESDAY MEETING: CANCELED FOR DECEMBER

The current study is on Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver; every Tuesday morning from 10-11:30am.

MEN’S WEDNESDAY MORNING PRAYER:

Wednesdays at 7:30a.m., the men meet at the church building for prayer and then go out for breakfast.

TWO WEDNESDAY EVENING CLASSES:

The Early Bird Class is at 6:00pm; while the Traditional Class continues to meet at 7:00p.m. Both classes will have the same lessons.

SKY VALLEY WORSHIP & BIBLE STUDY:

4pm starts the combined Worship Service/In The Word Bible Study for the DHS/Sky Valley areas.

I had the opportunity of attending the Men’s Empowerment Confer-ence at the Crenshaw church of Christ in Los Angeles. Dr. Mark Thomp-son from Detroit Michigan was the guest speaker. He told us about a con-versation he had with a doctor on a plane. He was studying from Matthew 4:1-4:

4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the

devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.3 The

tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones

to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but

on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” The physician told Dr. Thompson that from a physician’s perspec-tive this takes on a different challenge. He said that 40 days is about as long as a person can fast without serious physical damage. At that time, a person’s bowels have all but shut down. The way to come out of the fast is by sipping watered down broth a little at a time. Should a person begin by eating something solid the result would be very painful, resulting in death. Jesus was hungry. Satan used his physical need to tempt Jesus. Note, however, that the result of the temptation would have resulted in Je-sus’ death. This was not a chess match of wits or a Biblical debate. It was attempted murder. Satan didn’t wait until the cross to try to kill Jesus. Satan is dangerous and sly. Hold tight to Jesus.

Cuantas veces hemos escuchado esta frase, o quizas la habremos dicho tambien, aun estando bien fisicamente pero no emocionalmente, !YA ESTOY CANSADO DE VIVIR! Siempre la misma rutina, todo es lo mismo apenas empieza el lunes y ya queremos que sea viernes, llegamos tarde al trabajo y ya queremos que den las cuatro y sin darnos cuenta empezamos a desahogarnos con nuestras quejas: mi jefe, los niños, mi es-posa, el carro, el camion, la renta, mi hermano, el dinero no me alcanza. (pero si ya querias que fuera viernes fin de semana para continuar con nuestra rutina, y asi empezamos a dar rienda suelta a nuestra amargura.) Y si nos acordamos de DIOS quizas hasta le reclamamos, ! Ho DIOS, no me declares culpable! !Dime de que me acusas! Siendo asi que tu mismo me creaste, te parece bien maltratarme y despreciarme, las mismas palabras de JOB solo que JOB lo habia perdido todo, trabajo, familia, casa, amigos, todo. Y le decia a DIOS porque te muestras favorable a los planes de los malos? Acaso ves las cosas como las ven los hombres? Acaso es tu vida tan corta como la de un mortal? Entonces por que andas buscandome faltas y pecados, aun cuando sabes que yo no soy culpable y que nadie me puede salvar de tu poder? Tu me formaste con tus propias manos, !y ahora me quieres destruir! Recuerda que me hiciste de barro: vas ahora a convertirme otra vez en polvo? Hiciste que mi cuerpo se formara como se forma el queso al cuajarse la leche; me revestiste de carne y de piel, en-trelazaste mis huesos y tendones; me diste vida, me brindaste amor, y con tus cuidados me has mantenido con vida. Pero ahora veo que alla en tu corazon tenias una intencion secreta: me estabas observando para ver si yo pecaba, y asi poder condenarme por mi falta.
