We would like to give a big thank you to the
many people like you
who are donating food items and monetary gifts.
You are helping serve the needy in our area!
Outreach staff Since most of our staff has been asked to stay at home, one staff member, that only worked one day per week, immediately stepped up and offered to come in both days to work the pantry. Not only working the pantry, but going to pick up extra food on days the pantry is not normally open so that we are ready for anyone who needs food. When we reach out and help others we are also helping ourselves to become better people, doing what Jesus would want us to do. When we all pull together, there is so much that we can accomplish.

Pastoral Council Meeting
Wednesday, June 3rd (Zoom)
Summary
The Pastoral Council held its second “Zoom” meeting and
discussed the current state of the parish during the pandemic
and what may lie in store for the parish in the future. The following are the main areas that were discussed
during the meeting:
Live Stream Masses: While the church is closed for Mass, the Council members stressed how important the
live stream Masses are for parishioners – connection, prayer, safety. Some have problems connecting to the
YouTube channel (please call the Center for assistance). UPDATE: the permanent webcam has been installed
in church and will be used for Sunday Mass. Also possible will be to live stream other celebrations through
the parish website.
Open Church: The church continues to be open every day of the week for private prayer. One council
member calls this “huge” and a great comfort.
Finances: The Finance Committee met last week and began to address the impact of the pandemic on the
parish, especially through a significant decrease in collections. We will feel the impact next fiscal year
(September ’20-August ’21). The expenses will be reviewed for “essentials only” as we plan for the coming
year.
Preschool Tuition Increase: Because of the economic pressures on the parish, the preschool expenses need
to be covered by tuition. The families registered for the fall have been informed about the monthly increase
per child. One council member asked about the registration fee for Faith Formation: since Faith Formation is
an essential part of the parish, other costs not covered through the fee are covered through our Sunday
collections.
When will Mass start again? Funeral and wedding Masses are permitted with a total of no more than 10 in
church. There is no further information about future numbers and Mass is not being rescheduled.
Confirmation: When it is fully safe, Confirmations will be scheduled.
Current Violence in the Country: Not only are we exhausted from quarantine, but there is added stress
about the violence in the past days. The council members fully understand the impact of racism in the
country and in our own community. However, violence is never the answer. Father Frank will try to use the
homily this Sunday, Trinity Sunday, to address the situation, and he asked for prayers to assist him.

ALL ACTIVITES ARE CANCELLED THRU 6/26/20
.
Vacation Bible Camp is cancelled this summer
As you have read in the bulletin, a survey was sent out to all families. All are concerned that it is too soon to schedule anything.
The bishop is permitting pastors to confirm when it can be scheduled. Again, this depends on the school reopening (an unknown) and how the churches can reopen (an unknown).
STATUS OF OUR PARISH DURING THE PANDEMIC AS OF JUNE 7, 2020
Page 9
Funerals: Funerals are now permitted with no more than 10 people in church (including priest, organist and singer). Holy communion is not distributed. Masks are required.
Weddings: Weddings are now permitted with no more than 10 people in church (including priest, organist and singer). Holy communion is not distributed. Masks are required.
What about our Finances? The Finance Committee had a “Zoom” meeting on May 27th and has begun to look at the economic impact of the pandemic on the parish this fall and next year.
Preschool: We are currently working on refunding families for tuition that was paid in advance for April, May and June. Registration is ongoing.
We all realize that the situation is constantly changing.
Please continue to check the website for updates.
Please email Father Frank with your questions and concerns!
(All emails are confidential.)

gifts of time, but also of financial help. I ask you to prayerfully consider supporting
our parish with electronic donations through Faith Direct. You can find paper enroll-
ment forms in the parish office, or you can sign up online at www.faithdirect.net by
using our church code, NY67.
