LORD OF THE WOMB

1 Samuel 1:1- 2:11 As the Lord begins to provide new leadership for His suffering people Israel through a faithful woman’s distress and answered prayer in 1 Samuel 1:1-2:11, He shows Him-self to be the incomparable King who saves His loyal followers and is worthy of our trust in our own distress. I. THE LORD’S DELIVERS AN OPPRESSED, BARREN WOMAN (1:1-20) 1. Hannah’s distress in her oppressed and God-given barren condition (1-8) 2. Hannah prays for a son she would give to the LORD’s service (9-18) 3. The LORD answers Hannah’s prayer with the birth of Samuel (19-20) II. THE WOMAN FULFILLS HER VOW TO THE LORD (1:21-28) 1. Hannah first weans her child before fulfilling her vow (21-23) 2. When the time is fulfilled, Hannah fulfills her vow to give Samuel (24-28) III. June 2020: Media Prayer Priorities for America

We are picking up where we left off before the Covid-19 shut down. At that time we were preparing for the National Day of Prayer, May 7

th. A lot has happened in

the last 2 months. We need to mobilize thousands of churches and ministries, comprised of millions of people who will pray for America this month. Our nation needs prayer beyond what it has ever needed before. During the National Day of Prayer in May 2020, we emphasized seven areas of influence: Government, Military, Family, Education, Business, Media and Church. For the month of June, the emphasis is Media and entertainment. There are five subareas for media we will be praying for this month: Film, TV, Vid-eo, Music and Publication. In a study from 2018: the percentage of five areas were: Film (40%), TV (34%), Video (8%), Music (6%) and Publication (12%).

A Prayer for the News media

-Lord, may the hearts of those reporting the news be drawn to what is true and right. May they not be satisfied with rumors and innuendo but cry out for greater understanding. May they value and embrace what is true and good. May the fear of the Lord lead them to the knowledge of God giving greater insight and revela-tion into kingdom ways. -Lord, bless the good men and women in the media mountain who have hearts for You and seek to walk in truth. May abundant favor and provision be given to the obedient and those whose walk is pure. May media outlets be transformed by Your hand to reflect honesty, objectivity, and fair coverage, so that all citizens may make wise and informed decisions. Give us boldness to confront unrighteousness and the grace to demonstrate Your heart and ways to a world that is lost.

Pray for truth and morality to be presented

Proverbs 12:9-22 – Ephesians 4:29 – Philippians 4:8 – Matthew 12:36-37

Pray that God removes all deceit and lies from Media and Entertainment

“Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous.” Psalm 31:18 We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, let’s pray for our country like we do believe in that power.
