  • Essential Time ManagementHow to plan time for nursing school: 1 credit hour of didactic = 1 clock hour 1 credit hour of lab = 2 clock hours 1 credit hour of clinical = 3 clock hours

    Evidence-based rule of thumb formost college courses is 2 hours ofstudy for every credit hour (2:1). Nursing school is closer to 3:1.

    You are enrolled in 15 didactic credithours, what is the minimum number of study hours needed?

    For difficult topics you may need to plan for 45 hours.

    Going to nursing school is a full-time job in itself. This is why no nursing program ever recommends a student try to manage a full time job, school, and family.
