Sharing the Good News Through Improving Communication & Technology
Methods used to effectively communicate messages are rapidly changing. If we
wish to lead more people to the Kingdom of God, we must be dynamically pre-
sent in the places where they communicate. Through your support of the one by
One campaign you will help the Diocese more effectively and efficiently spread
the Good News throughout our communities. This will happen by:
• Strengthening our ability to communicate and share best practices in program
development
• Ensuring the security of diocesan data in an increasingly complex world
• Analyzing and understanding the impact of community programs
Your support not only improves communications, it also ensures the future of our
parishes, enhances Catholic education, broadens social services and living justice
programs and cares for our seminarians.
To make your gift today contact the parish office, visit the one by One website at
one.catholicfoundationgb.org or call Josh Diedrich toll-free at 877-500-3580,
ext. 8197 for more information.
The Parish is replacing Alter Server Albs for all three campuses.
Our current albs greatly need to be updated. We are hoping to raise $2,000 to help defray the cost.. If you
are interested in making a donation towards these new Albs, either 1) mail your contribution to the Parish
Office, 2) drop in the weekend’s collection, 3) give through Online Giving by selecting Server Albs or
4) Text “Albs” and $ amount to 920-214-0830. Whatever amount you give will be greatly appreciated!
Discipleship Formation (RE) News
2019-2020 Faith Formation registration is
underway – please don’t delay – register
soon. All forms can be found on the
parish website under the Discipleship
Formation tab. Openings are still available for the Grades
7&8 Summer Sessions at the end of July.
Prayers for our Pilgrims: This week (July 17-23) 15 youth
and 2 adult from St. Clare parish will join with other from
the Diocese of Green Bay on a pilgrimage to the Steuben-
ville Youth Conference, in Steubenville. We humbly ask
that you keep all of them (students, chaperones, and bus
driver) in your daily prayers.
On your designated day, we ask that
you do something a little extra in your
prayer life for our pilgrims; whether it
be offering a Mass, spending time in
Eucharistic Adoration, praying a
rosary, fasting, abstaining from meat,
or simply praying three Hail Mary’s.
Whatever you choose – no matter how big or small – it will
be greatly appreciated.

July 14, 2019 - Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time 6
PARISH/COMMUNITY EVENTS
"TIDbits: Theological Ideas from the Deacons"
Samaritans, priests and levites!
This weekend’s story of the “good Samaritan can be lost
on us, because of cultural differences from the first
listeners, who may have been quite scandalized.
Priests and their assistants the levites offered sacrifices
in the temple. They were not just being insensitive. If
they touched the man, they would have been “unclean”,
unable to function. Samaritans considered themselves
descendants of the “lost 10 tribes” of Israel but the Jews
considered them to be at least unclean pretenders!
Priests and levites abandoning sacred duties to tend to
the wounded would have been quite foreign to the
Jewish mind, AND a Samaritan being so caring would
have shaken them up quite a bit! In fact, an injured Jew
may have even refused his help.
So, how about us? Are we prepared to have our own
biases and boundaries challenged by Jesus? Are we
prepared to recognize His followers in other skin colors,
accents, clothing or hairstyles than ours? Jesus is
challenging us just as much as he challenged those first
hearers.
