In March, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops launched a national year of service to pregnant and parenting moms. The “Call to Prayer” is the first phase of Walking with Moms” in the archdiocese.

The vote for Medicaid Ex-pansion (Amendment 2) has been moved to the August
4th elections. This has the support of the Bish-ops of Missouri, including Archbishop Carlson and Bishop Rivituso.
SPIRITUAL DYNAMIC CATHOLIC, ALIVE! COMMUNITY
The Word. Many of us have heard the jokes that Catholics don’t read the Bible. While it is true that the sacramental life of the Catholic Church is wonderful and surpasses the power of Scrip-ture alone, it is imperative for us to read and pray with the Scriptures. Jesus, the Word made flesh, reminds us in His words to the disciples how important it is to hear the Word of God, to meditate on it, and to implement its truths into our daily lives. He reminds us of the necessity to be rooted in it and to allow it to become the wellspring from which all of our thoughts, words, and actions flow. We should read Scrip-ture every single day of our lives, whether that means going to daily Mass and listening to the readings, praying lectio divina, or praying a daily Bible verse. St. Jerome once said that igno-rance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. We come to a fuller knowledge of and relationship with the Lord when we read the Scriptures.

FALL FETE UPDATE At the recent meeting of the Fall Fete Commit-tee, it was decided to cancel the event for this year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Most were in agreement that the safety concerns were just too high for both volunteers and atten-dees. Let us all look forward to a wonderful event in 2021! Thank you to all who attended the meeting and your commitment to the parish in making this decision.
