*Called to Worship Opening Hymn Crown Him with Many Crowns UMH 327
Invocation From Psalm 30
Leader: I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up,
People: O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.
Leader: Sing praises to the Lord, O you God’s faithful ones, and give thanks to
God’s holy name.
People: You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my
sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
Opening Prayer (in unison)
Lord God, we your people proclaim the mystery of resurrection as we believe that Christ
is the Lord who lives and reigns for ever and ever. We humble ourselves before you to
seek your grace and to perceive your unseen mighty hand upon your church. As we
celebrate the ministry of the church to our Native American brothers and sisters, let
your Spirit move us to affirm the image of the Creator within each one of us and to care
for one another in the Body of Christ. Amen.

St. Luke’s Garden Ministry News
Wading Pool Gardens
We have approximately 65 current wading pool gar-
dens in the community and will be adding 10 more. We
need volunteers to deliver wading pool gardens on
April 22 and/or 23, move plants from the Rescue Mis-
sion greenhouse on April 29, for the Wading Pool Gar-
den Fair from 8:30-3:00 (or any portion of that time) on
April 30, and to be garden mentors for wading pool
gardeners throughout summer.
St. Luke’s Purdy Produce Plot
This is year number 7 for our church garden. We’ve
raised about 12,000 pounds of produce in that time.
Produce is used in Food for the Soul meals and excess
is given to guests. The garden plot has been cleaned of
last year’s debris. University of Dubuque students are
coming April 16 and 17 (weather permitting) to start
planting. Volunteers are needed throughout the 2016
growing season to plant, mulch, weed, harvest, trans-
port and prepare vegetables and fruit.
Edible Landscapes We received a Sustainable Dubuque grant of $2,350 to
initiate an edible landscape project in Dubuque.
Churches and non-profit agencies are eligible to apply
for a fruit-bearing tree or bush or annual vegetable or
fruit plants. Volunteers are needed to be mentors and
contacts with the recipients.
To volunteer for any of these garden ministries contact

PLANNING OUR FUTURE
TOGETHER!
We are inviting you to complete the Congregational As-sessment Tool (CAT), an online instrument that will help leaders gauge the strength, vitality, and trends in our church. The information gained from this assessment will be valuable in helping the leaders of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church as they make decisions about the future of St. Luke’s.
You may have already received an email with a unique link to the Congregational Assessment Tool. Beginning on April 7th we are asking you to go online by following the l ink ht tps ://www.surveymonkey .com/r/
lukemethdubuqIA and tell us about your experiences in and priorities for our church. Please do not discuss the survey or your answers with others as this may influence their answers.
If you need a paper copy, please come to the office, and we will provide one for you. All answers are strictly anonymous. We have no way of matching any assess-ment to a particular person, so please feel free to candidly share your perceptions, opinions and experiences. Our future together is dependent on your participation and honest answers.
If you have questions, please contact Grace Ashbrook at [email protected].
Many thanks, St. Luke’s SPPRC
