Jordans economy is relatively humble andtaking up several explorations and extractionswill need a large amount of money and this willbe very difficult to facilitate given the currentrecession and Syrian refugee infllux.

explorations and extractions and rather switch to buildingwindfarms and solar farms

This will in turn also be more environmentally friendly However it is still not practical is building solar panels is very

Significant oil shale deposits arelocated in Jordan (5.242 billionmetric tons of shale oil or 65billion metric tons of oil shale)and Israel (550 million metrictons of shale oil or 6.5 billionmetric tons of oil shale).Jordanian oil shales are high

quality, comparable to westernUS oil shale, although theirsulfur content is high.

Jordan heavily relies on Egypt for gas and Iraq for oil inorder to obtain electricity.

Several foreign companies try to sign exploration dealsnear the dead sea but these deals are never finalized

to economic and political pressure
