BRISCOE COLLECTORS SUMMIT presented by the
BRISCOE BISON SOCIETY through the generous support of The Hotel Contessa on the River Walk
HEADIN’ IN The first session will explore the changing nature of the Western
art market as it relates to long-time collectors that perhaps are reaching their zenith. How has the art market changed over the years?
As collectors begin “headin’ in” from their journey, what should they expect when transferring or selling their collections?
Friday, March 29 | 1:00pm-2:30pm The Hotel Contessa on the River Walk, 306 W. Market Street
Panelists Bob Nelson, Manitou Galleries, Nelson Museum of the West,
Military Memorial MuseumJohn Coleman, Artist, Coleman Studios
Christine Mollring, Collector
Moderator Joshua Rose, Editor, American Art Collector and Western Art Collector
HEADIN’ OUT An art collection is an intentional accumulation of works centered by a theme, conceptually. Finding a focus of a collection is seldom a rational decision. In the beginning, collectors buy what they like
and with time patterns emerge. This session will explore the journey of “headin’ out” as novice buyers of Western art begin making the
transition from buyers to collectors.
Saturday, March 30 | 10:00am-11:30am The Hotel Contessa on the River Walk, 306 W. Market Street
