Land Board’s Direction

• Keep the forest in public ownership and ensure public access and recreation opportunities

• Decouple the forest from the Common School Fund by compensating the fund for the value of the forest and releasing it from its obligation to generate revenue for schools.

• Complete a Habitat Conservation Plan to ensure at-risk species protection and the ability to actively manage the forest to be financially self-supporting.

• Manage the forest to provide multiple public benefits including research, recreation, species conservation, active forest management, education, and tribal partnerships

Oregon Coast Range.
