Jesus spoke of two destinies after the final judgment.1. The sheep go off into eternal life

2. The Goats into eternal fire.

Jesus said that eternal life is knowing God intimately. John 17:3

Eternal fire is the very presence of God who is eternal and a consuming fire. The Greek word for fire is pur which is where we get our word for purify. Hebrews 12:29

Both the sheep and the goats go right into the very presence of God

The sheep into direct intimacy that they already have

The goats into purification which cleanses away barriers to intimacy
