Sascha et ses compagnons musicaux crent un espace ouvert pour flirter et exprimenter avec un large vocabulaire individuel, ins-pir de traditions, dimprovisations ludiques et de posie raffine. Depuis son premier album de propres compositions Travelling Light, for-tement applaudi lors de sa publication en 2007, elle a tourn en concert avec ses collgues jusquaux festivals en inde. This unique trio uses extended instrumental technique, archaic sound objects, and ritual percussion within free metric structures. The resulting soundscapes are otherworldly and rich with a sense of timelessness. Each concert is a singular event exclusively consisting of self composed pieces.

Les annes se terminant en *2 semblent tre de bons millsimes pour les saxophonistes luxembourgeois: Jitz Jeitz (1962), actif sur la scne du jazz luxembourgeois depuis un quart de sicle, Laurent Pierre (1972), cheville ouvrire du Luxembourg Jazz orchestra, et Maxime Bender (1982), bien lanc sur la voie dune carrire internationale, se sont runis pour un projet original: arranger des standards de jazz pour cette formation insolite, cher-cher une sonorit compacte sans pour autant oublier les envoles liber-taires o les solistes peuvent exprimer leurs individualismes.Les trois saxophonistes tnors en fusion seront pousss par une ryth-mique choisie parmi les plus talentueux jazzmen du pays : le pianiste Claude Schaus, touche--tout, de tous les bons coups, le contrebassiste Boris Schmidt, que lon sarrache dsormais en Belgique, et le batteur Michel Mootz, clectique, aussi virtuose dans le rock, le bebop et Bartok.Au rpertoire, des arrangements de standards de Monk, Gillespie, Dameron, Shorter, ainsi que des originaux et ventuellement quelques amuse-oreilles italianisantes qui nauraient pas dplu aux autres trois tnors.

SAMMY VoMACKA Trio

Seit ber 30 Jahren begeistert Sammy Vomcka sein Publikum in der ganzen welt - zunchst als fingerpicking - Gitarrist und ragtime- Spezialist. im Laufe der zeit hat er sich immer mehr dem Jazz verschrieben.

Mit dem Namen Vomcka verbinden die Gitarrenfans unter den heute 40 - 50 Jhrigen unvergessliche Abende in schlecht belfteten Studentenkneipen, herrliche ragtime - und Blues - Arrangements auf einer alten Martin zu lau-nig - humorigen zwischenbemerkungen, vielleicht die erstmalige Erkenntnis, dass es berhaupt menschenmglich ist, Stcke von Leo Kottke ( nach Ge-hr ) nachzuspielen, sowie die ebenso kstliche wie analytisch treffsichere Erklrung, ein fingerpicker sei ein Mensch mit drei Hnden. Bis auf die Picks an seinen Hnden erinnert bei einem Trio - Konzert kaum noch etwas an den Musiker, den man einmal kannte. Mit einer bauchigen alten Gibson Super 400 , an der er eigenhndig den Steg - Pickup nebst den dazuge-hrigen Potis ausgebaut hat, bildet er den zentralen Part eines klassischen Jazz - Trios reinsten wassers. Auer ihm gibt es nur noch Schlagzeug und Kontrabass - eine Besetzung also, in der jazzgitarristische Schwchen gnadenlos zum Vorschein kmen, wenn es sie gbe. Aber bei allen Bedenken und bei allen kritisch ge-spitzten ohren, die bereit sind, den ehemaligen fingerpicker bis auf die letzten feinheiten zu analysieren - der Mann zeigt keine Schwchen. Ce projet autour du jeune multi-instrumentiste Pol Be-lardi est n suite la simple volont du musicien din-tgrer une clarinette basse dans ses compositions. Le rsultat est un mlange de tous les styles et influences qui ont marqu la vie de Pol, menant du classique au rock, travers le jazz, le hip-hop et la musique lectronique, tout en essayant de garder un cer-tain aspect personnel dans la musique.Les membres du groupe se connaissent depuis quelques annes et sont relis par leurs tudes musicales et leur vo-lont de crer des nouvelles ides et tendances musicales au Grand-Duch.

MiCHEL rEiS ALAiN MALLET PiANo DuoBorn in france, Alain Mallet moved to the States at the age of 21 to at-tend Berklee College of Music where he is now a professor in the piano and ensemble departments. He has performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in Jazz and pop including Phil woods, Paul Simon, Paquito Drivera and Madeleine Peyroux. He is a critically acclaimed pro-ducer, particularly for his work with Jonatha Brooke. His original composi-tions have been recorded by jazz greats such as Gary Burton, Dave Sam-uels and Paquito Drivera to name a few. He now resides in Connecticut.

Michel reis was twelve years old and living in Luxembourg when he dis-covered the Duke Ellington record that would forever change his percep-tion of music. Already four years into his classical training at the piano, reis introduction to jazz and improvisation unlocked new and exciting possibilities for him as a pianist and composer. one of those possibilities led him halfway around the world to study with the greatest musicians of our time. in Boston Massachusetts, reis attended Berklee College of Music and The New England Conservatory where he worked and per-formed with Joe Lovano, Danilo Perez, Dave Holland, George Garzone, and ran Blake. Six years of extensive studies and an unwavering dedi-cation to his craft set a foundation for the integrous and well-rounded musician he is today. A pianist, improviser, composer, and arranger, reis shares his passion for music all over the world. Performing in Europe, the united States, Central America, and Japan, he is proud and humbled to be developing an international reputation as an artist who expresses himself at the piano with an honest and authentic intention that cannot go unnoticed.

Currently based in New York, reis has two albums out under his name: A Young Mind (2005) and fairytale (2009) both for waltzing-Parke records. He also records as a sideman with such artists as Alex Terrier, Gast waltzing and Largo, Eleonora Bianchini, and George Garzone.

in 2005, reis was a finalist in the first Moscow Competition for Jazz Performers. A year later, he took second prize at the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition.reis uses music as a vehicle for understated and sincere communication with himself and his audience. He is truly a poet at the piano.
