Our microfinance project has yet another success story to share with us.

Sarika Nirulkar, resident of Malwani is a classic example of women empowerment. She and her sister

lost their father at a very tender age. Sarika, being the elder daughter in the family had to run the house.

She set-up a small parlour near her house in the slums of Malwani. With this income, she got her

younger sister married. She had to close down her parlour because her sister faced complication during

her delivery. The expense amounted to 40k.

Sarika, wanted to restart her parlour, it was Maitree Credit Society which lend her loan of 40k rupees

with which today, she is a successful women entrepreneur.

Long way to go!!!!!!

Adding a golden feather to the cap, the founder of Maitree Credit Cooperative Society, Mrs. Asha Kiran Kamble

will be attending a three-day first National Women’s Parliament hosted by Andhra Pradesh in Amravati on 10th

,

11th

& 12th

February This three-day event will see girl students connecting with 401 women legislators, 91 women

Members of Parliament and 300 social and corporate women leaders of India and overseas.

The aim of this Women’s Parliament is to empower women and take lead in various businesses.
