Dear SRB Family, We like to thank all of you for all the love, support, prayers, and kindnesses shown to us during Bud's hospitalization. The rides to and from the hospital, the company at the hospital, and all the calls and emails to check on Bud were so appreciated. And thanks to those who sent out updates on email and Facebook for me. We hope Bud will soon be back in our home and able to be out and about again. We love and appreciate all of you. Bud and Gloria

Speakers For Our Community Do you have a suggestion or a request for a speaker to come to our community? We would like to invite more speakers to our community who will educate and inform our residents. Past speakers have included the Police and Fire Departments, the District Attorney, and lawyers from the Senior Law Offices.
Plans for 2016 include: having someone come in to talk about cyber security, the District Attorney and Senior Law Offices.
We hope to have the folks from Senior Law Offices come back and talk about wills, the different kinds of power of attorney and Transfer on Death Deeds. If there is interest we look into offering another workshop on Power of Attorney for those who did not do this in the past or need to update their information.
If you have a suggestion for another speaker or would like to arrange to have a speaker come in, please contact Gloria at #335.

January 2016 - A&E Report
Saturday, December 12 – Holiday Open House, hosted by Jan Holder, catered by Blue Plate. 65 people attended a gracious Open House. A special thanks to Jan and her committee: Pat Carter, Pat Meakim, Linda Wascher and Randy Blair for their hard work. We hope Jan will continue to host this event!
Upcoming events are:
Friday, December 25 - Christmas Dinner, hosted by Darlene Hargrave. There will be a gift exchange ($10.00 value, bring one, get one). Deadline for tickets from Kathy Buckley is December 20.
Friday, December 31 – New Year’s Eve with John Garcia’s Karaoke, also hosted by Jan Holder. Deadline for tickets from Ann Pincus is December 25.

DINING ROOM: Coffee and Donuts
The First Saturday of Every Month at 9:00 AM Saturday, January 2 –Donna and Fred Winters are hosts for January
If there is no host signed up, that Coffee and Donuts must be cancelled. If you’re interested, instructions are posted next to the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.
Potluck Breakfast The Second Saturday of the month at 9:00 AM Potluck Breakfast is cancelled due to lack of participants. If you would like it to resume contact a member of A&E!
Potluck Dinner The Third Saturday of the month at 5:00 PM Saturday, January 15 - Wilma Christie and Mary Hahn are hosts for January
A&E does not put on these events. We simply monitor the sign-up sheets for Coffee and Potluck Dinner and provide the names of the hosts to the Sunburst.
Men’s Coffee Club
Every Tuesday at 9:00 AM This is a no-host event. The first one there puts on the coffee.
Ladies Coffee Club Every Friday at 8:30 AM This is a no-host event. The first one there puts on the coffee.
Country Music Jam Every Monday from 1:00 – 3:00 PM We have a jam of country musicians from inside and outside our community. Contact Charlie Babecka.
TGIS (Thank Goodness it's Saturday) Every Saturday Evening at 5:00 PM Bring your own beverage and a snack to share with others. This is a no-host gathering so each person is responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Contact: Kathy Buckley

The Lunch Bunch The Third Thursday of every month The once a month lunch bunch will meet on Thursday, January 21st at Red Lobster, 5555 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque, 884-4445. We’ll meet at 11:20 am at the clubhouse. Please contact Darlene Hargrave by Tuesday, January 19th to let her know if you will be going to lunch. She will be calling for reservations.
