For Android and Windows cellphones and tablets.

Open a web browser on your unit and type the address below and press ok or Go.

https://cat.eduroam.org

It is now time to install the new certificate, scroll down the page and chose the following:

”Download installer for…” (the type of cellphone or tablet you have), see picture below.

On the eduroam webpage choose

accordingly:

Which language you choose for your

installation, default English.

Chose the country where you are

located, default Sweden.

Chose the institution you belong to,

default the setting here is Chalmers,

change to:

University of Gothenburg

Which type of unit do you have?

eduroam detects your system. If it is

wrong change it to the correct one in

this menu.

In the last row eduroam asks if you

belong to this institution, click on

this button.

Instructions for Android units

To be able to install the new eduroam certificate on your Android unit you need to have the eduroam

application installed on it first.

Click on the blue links in the webpage and install it.

In the picture to the right an example of Google Play Store´s version of the eduroam application

download option. There is no fee for the application due to that it is a freeware.

Next step is to configure the application.

Here you have to choose the following:

University of Gothenburg (is chosen by default, here you need to do no changes)

Number 0 (is chosen by default, here you need to do no changes)

GU eduroam Choose this one instead of the GU eduroam test profile.

And now choose to install the configuration file, click on “install”.

On the next popup window that appears asks you if you wish to install the profile (see pic below)

choose “Yes”.

Next in the username row log in with the following:

For students: your gus-id followed by @gu.se (gus•••••@gu.se) and the password for your gus-

account.

For staff: your x-id followed by @gu.se (x•••••@gu.se) and the password for your x-account.

Common errors

Eduroam is already installed and the profile needs to be removed before the new certificate can be

installed.

Open the eduroamCAT application and choose the tab Profiles, then click on the ”Remove Profile”.

You will now get a question if you wish to remove your profile, choose “Yes”.

The old eduroam certificate profile will now be removed from your mobile unit and you will be able to

install the new one.

Now download the new certificate for your mobile unit, example below is for Android.
