Imagine you make $10,000 prot and thereoreyou pay $3,000 tax. I you have bought a $5,000exprojector, then you could claim 30% o that amountagainst your income tax.So, 30% o $5,000 is $1,500. Your $10,000 prot,less your $1,500 deduction is now $8,500. Now yourincome tax would only be $2,550.In eect, you got the projector or nearly 10% less($4,550) !!!You can then depreciate the asset also, so that meansyou can really depreciate 130% o the value o theequipment. A protable company will save itsel rompaying a lot o tax!In my calculations, the $5,000 projector will have onlycost $3,050! A saving o nearly $2,000 !!!

There are a ew hurdles still... For a business witha turnover o LESS than $2m, the minimum

expenditure threshold is OVER $1,000. For companiesOVER $2m, the threshold is $10,000.It has to be or business purposes and it has to bepurchased beore 30 June.

Are you thinking, $1,000 or $10,000 is too much? True,not many pieces o equipment are valued at above$10,000, but you can aggregate the values. Maybe asecurity camera costs $250, but the security systemas a whole could be $15k. A PA amplier costs only$300, but the PA system with horn speakers, bracketsetc may add up to $10,000. This is quite achievable!Kevin knows this and wants to push investmentorward!
