PRE-KINDERGARTEN NEWSAfter raising three boys, this is a week I always look forward to. Dinosaur week!!! We have read many awesome fiction and non fiction books and are learning the difference between the two. We have made, painted, printed, puzzled, imbedded, sorted, fossilised, dot-to-dotted, reenacted stories of, danced and more to the dinosaur theme. Another fun learning activity was the race car 8 tracks. With our steering wheels at the ready we ‘drove’ our way around the number 8 tracks to help us to cross the midline and practice our number 8’s. We had a great time on our visit to the Bathurst City Library. The brief bits of sunshine were greatly appreciated and the children found small branches to help them fly around the playground. We have also enjoyed the wonderful Australian Animals brought in for news.Sally Parsons

Is it time to confirm what you believe? Many parents choose to christen their children as babies. During the baptism service the priest reminds the congregation that “In due time these children should make their own response to God, and be prepared for confirmation.” Confirmation is the rite where the person takes responsibility for their faith and commits themselves to be disciples of Jesus. In our Diocese, confirmation is open to all persons over the age of 6. They should be sufficiently mature to understand the promises that they are making. In discussion with the Dean of All Saints’ Cathedral and the Bishop we
have decided to hold confirmations at the College every two years and confirmations at the Cathedral every other year. This year, the Cathedral will be holding the confirmation service for All Saints’.The service with Bishop Ian will be on Sunday 28 August at 9am. Preparation sessions will be weekly on Saturdays at a suitable time for the candidates beginning on 23rd July and will be at the Cathedral. They will be conducted by Mrs Tania Harvey, a Licensed Lay Minister at the Cathedral and there will always be another adult present at the sessions. I will also be dropping in from time to time. All leaders have completed safe ministry training and have current Working with Children Checks. If your child is interested in confirmation, please contact Mrs Tania Harvey on 0427 424 657 or the

Cathedral Office on 6331 4711 during work hours Mon- Fri, 9-1pm.Help for students in VanuatuDuring the upcoming term break I will be travelling to Tanna Island in Vanuatu with Samaritan’s Purse to assist in the rebuilding programme after last year’s cyclone. We will be building a new kindergarten classroom for one of the island’s schools. The team has been invited to take school supplies to assist the school. In order to keep the weight down I have decided to focus on items like rulers, pens, pencils, rubbers and solar powered calculators. If you are able to donate any of these items please send them in with your child on their chapel day.
With every blessing,Rev. Tony Card.
