Me es grato dirigirme a Ud para saludarlo, y a la vez para informarle de nuestro aporte de respaldo al Proyecto "Continuación del Estudio sobre Diferencias Etnofisiográficas y Mapas de Perspectivas de Peligros Volcáncios de las Comunidades de Alrededor del Volcán de Santa Ana (El Salvador), propuesto por la Comisión de Geografía de la Sección Nacional de El Salvador, en el marco de los Proyectos 2015, y cuyo objetivo es reducir la vulnerabilidad de la población del área de influencia del volcán de Santa Ana, a través del incremento en el conocimiento de las diferencias que existen en la forma de ver y entender los accidentes geográficos y la producción de mapas de la zona.

Como Presidente de esta Sección Nacional, doy mi apoyo para que este proyecto sea de beneficio a las comunidades que se encuentran en zona de riesgo volcánico en este país, al mismo tiempo mejora la comunicación entre los grupos interesados en reducir los riesgos naturales.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH Volcano Week 2009-present Volcano Week is a yearly event where I give several presentations and conduct activities about volcanoes and their different processes.

Geography Awareness Week November 2010 Conducted presentations to Pre-kindergarten to 4th grade students which ranged from introduction to geographical features to Hazards and the scientific method. Haiti Earthquake Damage Assessment Task Group January – February 2010 Participated on a collaborative project of the World Bank-Image Cat-RIT by helping with image analysis of the aftermath of the 2010 Earthquake that hit Haiti.
