Low friction DLC coating for implants and in-struments

Medthin™ 43 ADLC features very low friction, an ultra smooth surface and extremely high wear resistance. It is hemo-compatible and acts as a chemi-cal barrier to avoid ion leakage from metal alloys.

It is the preferred coating for components and instruments for spine surgery and for cardiovascular device components and instruments like guiding wires where low friction properties and good wear resistance are required.

The high resistance to alkaline and acidic cleaning and sterilization cycles, in combination with its other properties, makes it a superior alternative to chrome plating on surgical and dental instruments.

Medthin™ 43 ADLC is deposited at temperatures between 150 and 200 °C. The process allows for a variety of implant and instrument materials to be coated without affecting substrate materials and geometries.
