What has been achieved 2009-2010

•Hallmark 1 Quality Standard•Floors in the front hall sanded and resealed•Floor in the rear hall recovered.•Rear Hall Kitchen refurbished•A Storage Racking System installed in the rear hall to accommodate children's equipment.•A cupboard in rear male lobby to accommodate chemicals in accordance with the COSHHH Regs.•A secure cupboard to store electrical items etc.•New under sink unit purchased for the Front Kitchen•Splash backs fitted to all wash hand basins in rear hall,paper hand towel dispensers fitted to all wash hand basins in rear hall.

Achievements 2009-2010……………...

•Push bar opening to main entrance•New Cooker in front kitchen and a new refrigerator for the rear kitchen•Two further notice boards fitted in the rear hall to accommodate children's art work.•A new water boiler was purchased for the front halland two catering kettles•Safety bars and grill have been fitted to the outside gully•Eva and Pam have redecorated the rear toilets•5 screens were donated by the Parish Council.

Incorporate Company

North Cave Village Hall charity is an incorporate companytherefore there must be policy and procedures in place to protect the user and the trustees.

The Trustees as a provider of a service to hirers mustdemonstrate due diligence.

Policies and Procedures

Health and Safety•Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Risk assessment has been carried out.•A Fire Risk Assessment has been undertaken & fire extinguishers checked and replaced as necessary.•A risk assessment has been undertaken so as to ensure safe systems of work are undertaken.•Food hygiene guidelines have been written and includes temperature control.•All electrical items with plugs have been PATested•Three accidents were reported last year.

Strategic Plan- devised so trustees can see the phases ofthe sustainability project.

A Business Plan-that identifies costs benefits linked to functionality.

CIB Checks- not required by trustees though assurance needed that those who hire this facility and deal with children are appropriately screened.

Audit of Annual Accounts- carried out independentlyby an accountant known to more than two trustees

Equal Opportunities Policy- demonstrates that the trusteesdo not discriminate between race , religion, sexual orientation or disability.

Financial Policy- an open and transparent financial policythat allows trustees to examine the accounts as and when required.

Condition of Hire Document- this document demonstratesthe responsibility of the hirer and the trustee.

Booking Forms- these protect the trustee from negligent claims and demonstrate the responsibility of the hirer.

Green Housekeeping Policy- this demonstrates thatwhenever possible the trustees take cognisance of the environment

Energy saving measures- these are introduced when ever possible to lower the cost and carbon foot print.

•Testing of Electrical Supply•A New Village Hall Sign•Insulated suspended ceiling in front kitchen•Extensive refurbishment of the front kitchen•Resurfacing the outside surfaces•Removal of existing oil tank and replacing with a type that meets current standards•Removal of the Fixed Stage and purchase of a portable type.•Fitting of a disabled access ramp to front main entrance•Replacement of internal doors.•Variance of Entertainment Licence to sell Alcohol
