What is competency based education and why is it important?

CBE is a flexible, go-at-your-own pace delivery model that uses outcomes to measure progress and mastery

CBE allows students to engage in customized academic experiences where they are in control, advancing through their coursework at their own pace as they demonstrate competencies.

There is a belief that CBE is a more efficient delivery model for some students and may be particularly well-suited to non-traditional students that would otherwise struggle with completion
