The original company

The DPoint Group was originally created in 2002 by Daniel Gustavo Bukin, a young Argentinean entrepreneur of 22 years old. It is a Spanish company essentially dedicated to the provision of arts services such as; sales and rental of inflatable products like movie screens, human spheres, castles, etc, the organization of shows or sports events, graphic and web design, the organization of various events like, opening of facilities, product promotions, conventions, corporate dinners, etc and the production of audiovisual equipment.

The specialty of the D.Point Group is therefore the intensive use of the Internet as a working tool. Indeed, this medium is interactive, fast and allows the company to be in touch with its partners, suppliers and potential customers and to reach a much wider audience by using social media tools like facebook and twitter. School

During your work placement in our company there is both a ‘daily practice’ part and an assignment part for school. The ratio between these two depends on the schools requirements, the competences you wish to work on and the length of your internship. At the end you are assessed by the mentor in the company and your school on the quality of your recommendation/report. You are responsible to align your activities for the DPoint Group/MySpanishRoom/Disenointeriorwith your school requirements. We work with interns from around the world and every school has their own rules and requirements regarding the internship. Therefore we advise you to get approval for your personal plan from your school tutor, this way you are sure that your activities are aligned with your learning objectives.

Essentially there are three parties involved in the work placement, the student, the tutor provided by your school and the company mentor provided by us. All three parties have their own role and responsibilities, only by active participation of “all three” parties your internship will be successful. You as a student are responsible to monitor this collaboration and timely inform your mentor and tutor in case of any irregularities.

The school tutor It is essential for a successful work placement to have regular checks and support from your school. The intensity of coaching varies and depends on your school, your questions and the complexity of your assignment at the D.Point Group. The tasks of the tutor include:

Keeping in touch by phone or e-mail on a regular basis;

Keeping your placement file updated (progress reports, interim evaluation form, placement contact, etc.);

Gaining insight into the student’s performance, into the development of the necessary

competences, and into the possible problems that he/she might encounter while carrying out the school assignment;

Promoting the contact between the school and the D.Point Group;

Assessing the placement report produced, handed in and possibly presented by the student, and other papers, if any;

Assessing whether the student has fulfilled all the obligations of the work placement;

In most cases the tutor gets in touch with the D. Point Group twice during the internship, once in the

beginning of the placement and once at the end. Should it be necessary (either at your or your

mentor’s request), this can be more often. The first contact will in principle have to take place within

3 weeks after the start. The last contact is in the student’s last week, and focuses on the completion

of the assignment at the D.Point Group. The student is usually not visited, but the tutor keeps in

touch by e-mail or phone.

If you think it takes too long for the tutor to contact the D.Point Group and the reasons for this are unknown, you are expected to contact your tutor yourself to expedite the contact.

The school tutor should make sure that you and your mentor are both timely informed about his

intended contact. This will give him the opportunity to prepare adequately. During the visit the tutor

may also want to talk to the student, therefore it is important that you are in the office at the time of

contact with your tutor.

4

Page 7: Internship manual · etc, the organization of shows or sports events, graphic and web design, the organization of various events like, opening of facilities, product promotions, conventions,

The mentor For a maximum result of the internship, coaching by company is offered during the work placement. This coaching includes:

Providing the student with training necessary to execute their work.

Introducing the student to the co-workers with whom he or she will be working on a regular basis;

Helping collect data for the sake of the school assignment; Correcting the student with regard to his/her social skills;

Contacting the tutor or placement co-ordinator in case of problems during the placement

period that can influence the assessment of the placement; Receiving the tutor to discuss the student’s functioning; Introducing the student to other functionaries and departments in the organisation; Signing and approving the weekly logs, lists of hours, and the placement report.

The company mentor mister Daniel Bukin represents company for supervision of the work placement to ensure a smoothly running practice period. He evaluates the student by means of the evaluation form provided by the school or intern.

Internship

The work placement aims to give you insight into and experience with practical activities that are

relevant to your studies. More concretely, they offer you the possibility to put into practice the

knowledge, skills and insights that you have acquired during your course. After all, while at school,

you are around people who know the same (your fellow students) or more (your lecturers) than

you, in the ‘real world’ it appears that you have acquired specific knowledge and skills during your

course that other people do not have. Therefore we like to work with interns who have up to date

knowledge and thus enable us to constantly aim to the highest point and stay up to date on new

theories.

On the other hand you also discover in which fields you are still lacking expertise. Some of these gaps

can still be filled in the practical period. After all, the work placement offers excellent opportunities

to extend your knowledge and skills. For a successful career after your study, these can be essential

competences that you can only learn ‘in practice’. Experience tells us that students are often

deficient in technical skills such as creating websites and online marketing tools; therefore we aim to

fill this gap by proving our interns extensive training on all aspects of online marketing by actually

making, hosting and promoting their own website. Moreover, a confrontation with ‘the practice’

helps you decide what it is you want to do after your study. The practical period also offers good

opportunities to orient on the labour market and do some networking in the D.Point Group network.

More generally, the work placement is the ultimate part of your study with which you can profile

yourself and to a high degree influence your chances for a career after your study. Therefore, it is

important to make the best out of your time at the D. Point Group and use our knowledge to your

advantage. We are flexible towards our interns but you as the student are expected to be very

motivated when you start your internship. You have to realize that you need to show initiative to be

able to fully achieve the goals of the internship.

5

Page 8: Internship manual · etc, the organization of shows or sports events, graphic and web design, the organization of various events like, opening of facilities, product promotions, conventions,

Payment for training The fee must be paid prior to or at the latest the first day of the internship. There are no exceptions made and without timely payment the intern cannot participate in the training and consequently not proceed with the internship. This amount is non-refundable.

Weekly report You are expected to hand in a weekly report about your progress to the company mentor, this report should be mailed to [email protected] all reports have to be handed in on Friday before 19:00, please mention your name and the week number in the subject field when you send in your report. Include all the files from that week as an attachment, you mentor will keep these as back-up. A list

will be maintained so that at the end of the internship the company can verify active participation of

the intern. In case of repeated negligence or tardiness the company mentor reserves the right to

not approve the work placement. The format used for this report can be found in appendix II. Schedule Interns are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week for the company. To ensure that this

runs smoothly, an online schedule will be kept in which the interns can indicate when they come to

work. This schedule will be published each week in the group Dpointgroup stagiers/interns. There is

a capacity for 20 interns at the office 4. It may be better to come to the office at a different day

and/or time due to the limited space available at the office. LINK TO ONLINE SCHEDULE

If this is accepted by your school it is also possible to work from home. Note that you should be

logged in at your working Facebook and Gmail account, if you are not logged in; you are

considered as not working and consequently cannot count hours. Next to this interns who are

working from home are expected to post their activities in the facebook group on a daily basis,

this will enable your mentor to keep track of your activities while you work from home.

To avoid misunderstanding! Dpointgroup is a group of companies and therefore

the training for MySpanishRoom and Disenointerior is conducted by the parent

company.

Therefore in the following parts everything that is written about Dpointgroup

also refers to MySpanishRoom and Disenointerior.

Task 1, get started By completing the tasks you are going to learn;

How to post a mail or message to several social forums with one single button. Creating blogs and positioning keywords at the right place in the content of the blog.

First you should create an email account on Gmail.com; the Gmail account can be something like:

your name (dot) [email protected], [email protected], or whichever is available. Use this

account to create accounts on facebook and twitter. After this step, please check appendix III in the

back of manual to find a group of social platforms, you are going to create an account on each of

them. Note that you should familiarize yourself with the different sites and use the name d.point or

d.pointgroup for both the username and password for all the accounts, your password can be

dpointgroup, dpointgroup1 etc. in appendix IV you can list all usernames and passwords, note that

you have to hand these to your mentor after you have finished your internship.

Please check www.dpinflatables.it when you click the ¨share button¨, you have access to more media in which you can open an account. Remember to list all the login information in appendix IV.

Task 2, build traffic After creating all the social media accounts from task1 we have to add friends in all of them and build

traffic. We can add friends by writing what kind of contacts we are looking in the search bar of each

account: For example, we can look for ¨marketing agencies, communication agencies, events

agencies, PR agencies, advertising agencies, audiovisual companies, municipalities, hotels,

restaurants, discotheques, casinos, student associations, universities, institutes, language schools,

etc. After getting the results, we can add each contact as a friend and start our online community.

We can add until approximately 15 contacts on facebook per day (if we add more it will be

considered as spam) note that you can press the like button on an unlimited number of facebook

pages. After pressing the like button you will be able to write in the wall of that page and post the ad

that you chose. You can place promotions, discounts, news, and you can post pictures, video, links

and text. Note that you should write your D.Point Gmail in every ad so that potential customers

directly contact you, you will receive a commission on every product sold through your ad. Examples:

Inflatable Screens for sale. National and International delivery .¨Best value prices on the market¨

Inflatable Screens at competitive prices. Discounts for high volume purchases. Fast and easy national and international postage with DHL. Manufacturing and design tailored to required times. We have great stock in our catalogue. Request more information. (your email)

Ads change frequently, make sure that you are aware of current marketing campaigns so that you promote the right product, you can ask your colleagues for the most recent developments in the D. Point group. You may use existing ads created by other students or you may create your own, note that you have to show your mentor your design before posting it online.

Task 3, start blogging Go to www.blogger.com and create 2 blogs: 1 blog related to the service or product of your website and 1 blog related to dpointgroup services and products.

You can use pictures from www.freedigitalphotos.net and www.wylio.com (this last website is

good to obtain pictures for blogs), please read the instructions before downloading the pictures.

Also if you search on Google” free royalty pictures” you can find lots of sites that let you use

pictures, in exchange you will have to post the link to that site on our website (please read the

terms and conditions before taking the pictures and let your mentor know which site you used. Task 4, recruitment Now is the time when we need to recruit more interns, professionals, partners and suppliers for our

internship and partnership program. Use the following links to the most important sites to advertise

our internship program. Use your dpointgroup Gmail in the ads and confirm on the facebook group

that you are attending task 4. Remember to multitask and keep working on your websites, blogs,

videos and other tasks.

Task 5, Blog and monetize Blogging is big business these days, with some bloggers reporting six-figure or even million-dollar

incomes. There are a number of ways that these bloggers earn such large pay checks, and the

best know how to do it in a way that won't scare off readers. Along the internship we will try to

cover different ways to earn money from your blog and teach you strategies for using these tools

and methods in a way that is reader-friendly. Remember that you can use pictures from

www.freedigitalphotos.net, www.wylio.com and Google free royalty, see task3 for instructions.

Of course you can use the pictures from our Castells, Tobogans (Slides) and Inflatable screens from

our website, see appendix I. Remember to promote the blog on DIGG by writing an article every day

(can be a promotion, a unique offer, etc.) and insert the ad sense code in all the different blogs (if

possible). After creating the blogs, please publish them in the dpointgroup facebook group to share

it with everybody. Task 6, Google ad words The dpointgroup can supply you with one Google ad words account with €60 credit per blog or

website that you create. For example: if you create 10 blogs, dpointgroup is able to supply you 10

Google ad word accounts with €60 credit on each, which means 600€ credit on Google sponsor ads!!

Request your credit at your mentor and start exploring the possibilities of Google ad words.

TASK 7, Increase traffic on your website In this task we are going to focus on increasing traffic by improving your website(s) and blogs by

adding or correcting different items. In this task you will get some instructions on the best way to

do this (note: the copy and paste of codes is to be made on the blogs and on the Dreamweaver on

the code interface. Sometimes the blogs have an option to insert these buttons, gadgets, widgets or

banners, without pasting the code). REMEMBER TO SHARE YOUR BLOGS AND WEBS ON

DPOINTGROUP FACEBOOK WALL and if you have questions you can post them there as well, our

facebook group has many members which can interact and learn from each other!

The file names have to be translated to the language of the website (remember that they have to be in low case, all together, without accents or symbols).

Don’t change the name of the index.html (index.html is the home page of every website) We will let know to every intern about the domain address that we are going to use for that website in order to create the links.

Add alternative text for pictures and graphics (see the alt bar and complete with keywords that we can find with Google keyword research tool).

Change the banner links and navigation buttons links to the html pages that you create (the links must be modified in every html in order to connect all the pages.

Change the contact in every html and write your email address (or future email address, example: [email protected])

Change the link on the home page button and if necessary on any other button.

Copy/paste the links for all the pages (from the websites by tables, such as the inflatable templates, sometimes you have to add a line or column to match the copy paste text).

There are different things in the list that you already did for previous tasks; therefore you have to

focus on the things that still need to be done in order to improve your blogs and websites and

thus sales. More video editing, photo editing and other optimization tips will be posted in the

facebook group. You can keep doing the other tasks at the same time, think multitasking!

Definition list

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the "natural" or un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results.
