Aqua~Media is delighted to be taking next year’s conference, HYDRO 2020, back to France, to the scenic city of Strasbourg in the Grand Est region (formerly known as Alsace). The city is on the Rhine, one of Europe’s major ‘hydropower rivers’, and is very close to the borders of both Germany and Switzerland, so there will be plenty of local technical expertise to share with participants.

Our previous events in Lyon (2009) and Bordeaux (2015) have demonstrated that France is an excellent meeting point, for delegates from all parts of the world. EDF, CNR and other major French companies have hydraulic works of all types and sizes to show within France, as well as extensive global activities.

Our main session tracks will cover a broad range of practical issues for the profession, including financial topics, climate and environment, hydro in synergy with other renewables, pumped storage, dam engineering, safety, and capacity building. Seminars and workshops will precede the event, and a full social programme is being organized. A full call for papers will be issued shortly.

HYDRO 2020 EXHIBITION AND SPONSORSHIP

A major element of the HYDRO 2020 event will be the Technical Exhibition, running for three days alongside the conference (26 to 28 October). The exhibition pavilions will be the main hub for business networking between delegates and industry representatives who will be exhibiting their supplies and services.

Exhibitors typically comprise consultants, contractors, manufacturers, developers and professional associations.

All lunch and refreshments will be served in the exhibition, with catering points arranged to ensure that delegates will move around the whole area regularly during the three days. Feedback from previous events indicates that delegates maximize the opportunities to circulate in the exhibition, and that valuable contacts are made, which are maintained after the event.

The exhibition will remain open for a networking reception after the conference sessions on Tuesday 15 October, to provide extra opportunities for business meetings in an informal atmosphere.

Exhibition space is generally sold in units of 6 m2, and multiple units can be combined to create larger displays including custom-built stands.

Sponsorship packages are available and provide an excellent way of standing out among competitors (such as coffee breaks, lunches, social events and more).
