The Gas Turbine Users Forum (GTUF) is an Asia Pacific gas turbine owner’s forum which currently consists of three users group:

» Frame Users Group – started in 2008, fourteen member companies » GT13E2 Users Group – started in 2010, five member companies » Aeroderivatives and Light Industrial Gas Turbines Users Group – started in 2012, thirteen

member companies

GTUF meetings are held twice a year, one meeting is attached to the Australian Gas Turbine Conference and the second venue is rotated around members’ sites with training workshops and site visits included. Unlike other users groups the GTUF is not just a ‘talking shop’ - in addition to sharing user knowledge and experiences the GTUF members actively create knowledge by undertaking jointly funded projects and research programmes.

Who Should Attend?

Dear Colleague,Following our successful inaugural event, we are happy to invite you and your colleagues to join us once again for the 2nd annual Asia-Pacific O&M and Lifecycle Management for CCGT Power Plants conference.

Amidst a renaissance in regional coal financing, coupled with growing operational pressure and a need to tightly manage cost at all levels, this event is designed to bring together all stakeholders – from users, to IPPs, OEMs, third party service providers, financiers, and beyond – for open information exchange, benchmarking and networking.

With delegations from 14 different countries joining us for our inaugural conference, don’t miss this opportunity to join us on 17-18 March in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event will be the Asia-Pacific focal point for discussion of the key strategic and operational issues currently impacting the CCGT market. Presentations and case studies will include insight into:

» O&M fleet management best practice » CCGT plant performance, efficiency, and reliability improvements » Gas turbine technology and life extension of hot gas path components » Gas turbine maintenance strategies » Major gas turbine outage management » Driving operational excellence to improve return on capital employed » The future outlook for CCGT power plants and new investment

Also take advantage of our optional morning pre-conference workshop on 4 November for practical examples and expert theory on how the inclusion of a programme for life assessment and life extension can be an integral part of managing critical assets such as heat recovery steam generators (HRSG’s), high energy steam (HEP) pipe and gas and steam turbines.

Following the workshop, the conference will be packed with opportunities to benchmark your own performance against peers, hear lessons learned, gather information, and make valuable new connections.

We look forward to welcoming you and your team to Kuala Lumpur.

Life Extension for Major CCGT Assets as Part of Asset Integrity ManagementThis workshop will demonstrate how the inclusion of a programme for life assessment and life extension can be an integral part of managing critical assets such as Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG’s), High Energy Steam (HEP) pipe and gas and steam turbines.

Over the course of the morning, the workshop will explore how integrated approaches to whole life asset integrity management and asset life extension which span conception and design through to end of life –have been developed to incorporate best industry practice with respect to asset integrity management and the implementation of analytical techniques, condition based assessment and inspection technology.

The workshop will examine the requirement for bespoke asset management road maps combining multiple engineering disciplines and risk based methods with commercial business strategies, in order to deliver increased asset reliability and availability cost effectively. It will focus on practical examples from within the power industry and also draw upon similar experiences from the oil and gas sector that have been successfully translated to the power sector, together with a clear focus and discussion around the benefits realised from these initiatives.

Attendance at the workshop will allow you to:

» Understand the techniques and skills required to life assess and life extend critical assets whilst maintaining asset integrity » Gain knowledge of how risk based methods and engineering critical assessments are used in asset life extension » Discover how life extension programmes can be performed cost effectively and be flexible to changing Operational requirements » learn how condition assessment and inspection are employed in the life extension process » Participate in interactive technical discussion and share knowledge and experiences

This workshop is an ideal opportunity to dive deep into the fundamentals of plant asset management, prior to joining the main conference after lunch. Time will be built into the workshop for networking and refreshments.

Dr Maxine Watson, Director, Power Resources, Quest Integrity Group LLC, and Chair, Gas Turbine Users Forum
