Personality Profiles are a highly effective tool in the process ofimproving personal performance at work because there is aclear relationship between personality, emotional intelligenceand competencies which links directly to how a person per-forms.
The performance improvement equation is this:
● Personality represents who a person is and includes their tem-perament and innate resources.
● Emotional Intelligence is how well a person learns to managetheir temperament and harness those innate resources (theirpotential).
● Competencies are how this manifests in a person’s work per-formance and behaviours.
To complete the left-hand side of the equation we use EmotionalIntelligence Profiles from JCA. These generate a diagnostic gapbetween personality and competencies. Sixteen emotionalintelligence scales make up the profile.
