KRAFT PULPING

Chemical pulping accounts for 70 % of the total

worldwide production

Currently about 90 % of chemical pulps (about

130 million tons) are produced by the kraft

(sulfate) process

acids (resin and fatty acids) with H2SO4 → CTO (the
