INSPIRATIONAL CD FRONT COVERS

Having analysed a lot of CD

covers (front and back) I

found some inspirational

front CD covers. In the

following slides I have

explained why they are

inspirational in my opinion.

This will help me create my

own front CD cover as I will

gain a range of ideas that

RICK ROSS

1. One why this CD cover

as attracted me, is through

the use of camera angles.

The camera angle is a low

angle close up shot. I

absolutely love the way

RICK ROSS represents his

power by looking down at

his audience with no fear. I

want my artist to look

powerful therefore this

camera shot would be very

beneficial.

2. Another thing that really stood out to me is the

use of props. The fact that Rick Ross is wearing

his sunglasses, it tells the audiences that he is

‘cool’. This is effective as it allows his target

audience to look up to him. Moreover, the flower in

his coat illustrates his passion for love. This also

attracts his target audience as it stereotypically

3. In this CD cover the

audience can see the

London bridge therefore

they are able to establish

the location. (this is known

as a establishing shot). In

the artist’s most recent

music video he is located

near the London bridge.

This is a key selling factor

for the artist as the

audience recognises his

track through the location

shown in the front of the

CD cover. I think this is

very clever as the

audience start associating

4. Another thing that I

found inspirational from

this CD cover, is the facial

expressions shown on the

artists face. The audience

can see that this artist is

very serious. This

represents his power and

T.I5. In this CD cover, I

honestly love how

the artist represents

his class through

the use of props.

For example, the

audience can see

that he is wearing

an era-cap. This is

one of the

conventions that

rap artist would

have. Since my

artist ‘WA’ is also a

rap artist, I think it

would be good to

use an era-cap. This

will allow the

audience to also

These inspirational shot have helped me establish how I want my CD cover to look in terms

of representation, conventions, pr

ops and costumes. This will allow me to attract my target

audience.
