Madonna-MDNA

The overall look of the album creates a very edgy overall look for the album and what songs are on it.

The colour gradient used across the image creates a different dimension as Madonna is known for when she was younger it is almost a representation that she is back and is bringing her style of pop back to the modern market.

The close up of herself allows the audience to identify who exactly she is.

The bold title is in white to stand our from the background so it is clear to the audience. It still withholds the line aspect of which the larger image does so it links the two together.

The vivid colours used are the popular colours which are associated with the genre of Pop, so it can be clearly identified as being part of that genre.

When comparing this album cover to her past ones you can see that Madonna has been modernised and has adapted to the market that is around today.

Jessie J – Who You Are The close up of Jessie J indicates a part of her style, edgy and contemporary.

Name of the artist is bold and a contrasting colour to make it stand out more to the audience.

Even though the title of the album is smaller than the artists name, by it being positioned underneath the large text you automatically look at it when you read the text above.

The contrasting colours of black and white have been used to really make her stand on the cover so the album itself can be seen amongst others and also makes her a statement which can be reinforced by the make up used.

The overall look of the album is quite serious in a way due to the actual image used, accompanied by the colours.

The actual title of the album is ‘Who You Are’ which almost justifies why she is positioned the way she is.

JLS - Evolution

The mid close up of all four boys allow the audience to clearly identify who is in the band and also a little bit of their own person style due to the outfits that can be seen which can allow the audience to get a feel for what the music on the album could be like.

The name ‘Evolution’ almost feels like the group have grown and have changed accordingly to how the market has developed to be.

By having the title of the album and the name of the band in a striking red, it allows it to pop out of the image, captivating the audiences attention.

Despite the cover of the album looking quite serious, the images still withhold that boy band, pop feel. So you know that their music can be predicted to be from the pop genre, which is reinforced by previous songs released by the band.
