The BEK Communications Cooperative 55 AnnualMeeting will be held on June 14, 2007 at the SteeleDawson High School auditorium. An official noticeof the meeting will be mailed to the members at theend of May.

BEK members and their families will be invited to adelicious beef supper prepared and served by BEKemployees. This is a great time for you to meet yourdirectors, many BEK employees and visit with yourcooperative partners during a friendly relaxed meal.

Following the meal, the Annual Meeting of theCooperative will be held consisting of informativereports from the officers and CEO/GeneralManager of BEK Communications Cooperative.There will be an election of directors, a review ofoperating reports for 2006 and past years, and doorprizes will be drawn for members who are present.

Free child care is provided for preschool and schoolage children up to the third grade for parentsattending theAnnual Meeting.

The BEK Board of Directors is pleased to announcethe allocation for 2006 Capital Credits. BEKCommunications Cooperative will be allocating$2,610,780 plus related Federal Excise tax for2006. BEK Coop members who had telephoneservice in 2006 will receive their “PatronageCapital Statements” during the month of May.

The Patronage Capital Statement highlights yourprevious balance, the new 2006 capital creditallocation, and your current balance. The amountof business you did with BEK in 2006 is used tocalculate your 2006 capital credit allocation.

The Capital Credits reported on your PatronageCapital Statement cannot be used as paymenttowards your telephone bill. At the present time,capital credits are paid during general refunds andby (one time) application when you reach age 70 orto settle an estate. If you have any questionsregarding your Patronage Capital Statement oryour capital credit account, please call usat 1-888-475-4277.

Capital Credit Allocation

It is morning and a summer rain shower has passedover; the air smells clean and fresh and a rainbowappears where dark clouds hung previously.

Seizing the opportunity, eleven year old LoganCarpenter picks up his mother's Fuji 3.2 mega pixelcamera and heads out the door.

Just four miles west of Moffit, ND in a pasture near hishome, Logan finds a subject to capture for his 4-Hphotography project. A softened rainbow filters throughthe clouds of a rural setting, including a windmillprotected by fencing with a stock tank below. Twostately trees near the tank provide shade for livestockand chirping birds perch on fallen branches. Logan'sfocus is on the windmill, but his photo encompassesmuch more. This picturesque country scene iscaptivating to those who chose Logan's picture forBEK's directory photo contest. Many were surprisedthat the winner was a young photographer because hecaptured so much in his photo. Tranquility, unusualcolor and subtleness make his entry a uniquephotograph.

Logan Carpenter attends HMBand is in the fifth grade. Hisfavorite subjects are band andcomputer. He plays alto sax andlikes to play on the computer. He's acountry kid, living on a ranch with severalhorses. He enjoys driving the golf cart around the ranchwith his companion, a dog named Lady. Logan says, “Ilike taking pictures of people, especially my sisters,Katie and Kristi. I also like to take pictures of animals onthe farm.” Logan plans to get a better camera forhimself someday. “Until then, I will just keep borrowingmy mother's camera,” says Logan.
