Dear Worldwideans,
Seasons Greetings!
As you might have seen from some emails, we had very fruitful trip to Portugal and other
European countries to meet with our CTN and other agents. I had also shared with you the
good news that WWL has been recognized as one of the important contributors to CTN
network and has been presented with a certificate of excellence. In all these meetings,
WWL was recognized as a leading service provider with steady performance and
comparably high standards. The credit goes to all of you, kudos for the same!!
At the same time, we need be mindful of several opportunities thrown in by the market and
try to grab the maximum. I have circulated the details of the trip to all HODs and request
them to share it with you.
I want everyone to be fully engaged with the agents at all times and take maximum mileage
of the opportunities.
Best wishes to all & a Happy Summer Vacation 2018!
Regards,

The air cargo hubs of Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver are attracting new services and shifting their focus from delivering tonnage for shippers to ensure reliability for high-value shipments,
particularly for technology trade with Canada’s top four partners: the United States, the United
Kingdom, China and Japan.
“Air tonnage is an archaic way of reporting growth because it doesn’t tell you the value of what
was hauled, the speed to market, or the destinations reached,” said Ray Segat, director of cargo and business development at Vancouver International Airport. "Today, to meet the needs of
transit-time and cost-sensitive shippers, we must be more entrepreneurial minded. Money we
make at the airport has to be invested” in geographic and infrastructure expansion, he added.
Toronto Pearson International (YYZ) is continuing to expand its global reach. This year, it is
connecting Canadian air exporters and importers with 70 percent of the world’s economy, up
from 67 percent a year earlier, airport officials report.
Some 63 airlines currently operate scheduled belly, freighter, and charter flights providing non-
stop and same-plane air cargo service to 184 global destinations worldwide, up from 176 in the
last year, the expanded capacity, driven heavily by Air Canada’s nine new foreign routes in
2017-18, is aimed at its goal of generating more high-value, high-yield traffic through North
America’s second busiest airport in terms of international passengers. However, it’s not necessarily just maximizing tonnage throughput.
“Toronto Pearson is more concerned about providing efficiency and markets to air shippers and forwarders,” told Paul Ritchi, senior manager of strategy and growth for the Greater Toronto
Airport Authority (GTAA).

Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister has given its approval to
the following proposal of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion: Development of
Freight Village, an Integrated Multi Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH), at Nangal Chaudhary, Haryana
on 886.78 acres of land, to be implemented by the project Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in two
phases.
Financial sanction of Rs. 1,029.49 crore for development of Phase I and in-principle approval for development of Phase II of the project. Expenditure on Phase I comprises cost of entire land, at
Rs 266 crore, including cost of the land to be used for development of Phase II.
Investment of Rs. 763.49 crore by National Industrial Corridor Development and
Implementation Trust (NICDIT), which includes Rs. 266 crore as equity and Rs. 497.49 crore as
debt in the SPV; and Bidding for trunk infrastructure development by SPV on EPC basis.
The project has enormous economic value in terms of direct and indirect benefits and multiplier
effects on the economy. The economic benefits will include creation of employment, reduction in fuel costs, boosts to exports, reduction in vehicle (trucks) operating cost, reduction in
accident related costs, increase in collection of taxes by the state government, reduction in
pollution, etc.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest port developer, has said that it
registered an impressive 42 per cent increase in throughput at Kattupalli port by successfully
handling 493,260 TEUs in 2017-18.
Kattupalli offers its customers best-in-class infrastructure designed to adequately handle the
fast-growing volumes. Free from the congestion-related issues that typically afflict city-based ports, Kattupalli has efficaciously ensured supply chain reliability for its customers.
In view of the rapid economic and volume growth expected in the southern region, Kattupalli
stands well poised to better serve the needs of the import and export community in the future,
offering customised transportation solutions and reducing supply chain costs and complexity.
With an annual handling capacity of 1.2 million TEUs, a draught of 14 metres and two berths of
710 metres length each, Kattupalli can handle the largest vessels calling the southern coast of
India. The quay side infrastructure constitutes 6 QCs and 15 RTGs. With 360 reefer plug points,
the port can accept and handle reefer cargo as well.

How to beat the heat this Summer
Day by day, it is becoming difficult to cope up with Indian summer. The days and nights of summer
season are getting hotter. And sitting in an air conditioned room 24 hours a day isn’t an option many
of us can enjoy. Therefore, all of us need a comprehensive guide to beat Indian summer.
Health Tips for Summer Season
• Summer season brings a lot of disease causing elements which need to be avoided. Here are
some important points to avoid getting sick in summer.
• Avoid dehydration with higher fluid intake.
• Don’t eat cut fruits from outside vendors. There are high chances of contamination because
of dust and fluids.
• Avoid oily food.
• Eat curd for that will help you get rid of sickness causing bacteria that thrive during summer
season.
• Wear sunscreen to avoid sun burns.
• Sugar cane juice is good, even if you are trying to lose weight. It only contains natural sugars
which aren’t that harmful.
What to Eat in Summer Season?
During Summer season, eating habits can not only affect your body temperature but also affect your
health. You need to be careful about what you eat and what you don’t. Some kinds of food can make
you feel naturally cool and some can even get you dehydrated. Better take care about that. Here are
some tips on what to eat during summer.
• Eat light and nutritious food.
• Eat a lot of fresh fruits, especially ones with higher fluid content. For example, fruits like
water melon etc.
• Eat lots of salads.
• Eat spicy food as that would make you sweat and hence feel cooler.
• Eat a lot of cucumber and lettuce.
• Some of the foods that are must have on regular basis in summer season are: curd (in any
form), water melon, coconut water, cucumber, mint, green vegetables, onions, melons and
lime water. All these foods are high in water content and help you beat the heat easily.
• Eat food that can be digested easily. This definitely means that you must avoid junk food and
non-vegetarian food that is high in protein. Grilled red meat or fish is a better option than
chicken.
• Things like amla, apricot, mango, corn and cardamom are also beneficial to face the
scorching heat of the sun easily.
• Try to eat less salt.
• Tulsi seeds are good at cooling down your body. Add them to your green tea or usual drinks
to get the advantage of them.
• Go easy on nuts for they take longer to digest and anything that takes long time to digest is
bad in summer.
What to drink in Summer Season?
The most important tip about summer would be to stay hydrated. But some people consider cold
coffee a good option and gulp in loads of coffee which eventually makes them feel hot, instead of
cool. You need to be careful about your choice of drinks. Here are some tips to help you out!
• Drink cool water but make sure it is not too cool. Cold water makes your blood vessels
tighten and that makes you feel hotter.
• Nimbu Paani/ lemonade helps you beat the heat.
• Coconut water contains sugar, fiber, proteins, vitamins & minerals and is therefore a good
drink for summer season.
• Drink water kept in earthern pots. It is better than having chilled or refrigerated water.
• Green tea is a really good option to stay cool and healthy in India Summer.
• Try out the local Indian drinks like ragi, lassi etc.
• Some cool and refreshing drinks easily available in India are nimbu paani, coconut water,
jaljeera, sweet lassi, chhas/buttemilk, etc.
• Some cool fruits juice that you can have in summer is watermelon juice, musk melon juice,
kokum sherbet, mint sherbet, mango juice and sweet lime juice.
• Some ingredients that can further enhance the cooling power of your drinks are holy
basil/tulsi, rose petals, rose water, rose petals preserve, sabja seeds, cardamom powder,
saffron, almond milk and barley water.
What to Wear in Summer Season?
Your clothes can greatly affect your body temperature, only if you knew. Don’t worry. Here are some
useful tips on what kinds of clothes you should wear. The ultimate choice is yours though but these
are few points that are for your own benefit.
• Light fabrics must be worn during Indian summer.
• Cotton is the most common and comfortable fabric.
• Wear loose clothes.
• Wear light colored clothes as they’re good at reflecting the sunlight and thus, keep you cool.
• Wear aerating shoes so as to avoid sweat and fungus etc.
• Linen is also a good fabric for summer.
• Half sleeves or sleeveless t-shits are good
• Prefer open neck t-shirts.
• Avoid jeans. Go for cotton trousers.
• Avoid wearing synthetic clothes, especially tights.
• For ideal protection against sun, wear full sleeved clothes. Avoid shorts.
* Workplace rules * for happy life:
1. *Trust no one* but respect everyone.
2. What happens in office, remain within office. *Never take office gossips* to home and
vice versa.
3. *Enter office on time, leave on time*. Your desktop is not helping to improve your
health.
4. *Never make Relationships* in the work place. It will always backfire.
5. *Expect nothing*. If somebody helps, feel thankful. If not, you will learn to know things
on your own.
6. *Never rush for a position*. If you get promoted, congrats. If not, it doesn't matter. You
will always be remembered for your knowledge and politeness, not for your designation.
7. *Never run behind office stuff*. You have better things to do in life.
8. *Avoid taking everything* on your ego. Your salary matters. You are being paid. Use your
assets to get happiness.
9. It *doesn't matter how people treat you*. Be humble. You are not everyone's cup of tea.
10. In the end *nothing matters except family*, friends, home, and Inner peace.
