How else are we socialized? Schools certainly have curriculum obligations (outlined by the Ministry of

Teachers are required to deliver curriculum and evaluate learning

With your elbow partners, discuss what other ‘social’ purposes school has on children / youth.

Part Time Employment• What motivates you to work part time?

• Work is both a way to earn an income and a major contributor to self esteem.

• Families, school, community and society all have an impact on choice of career.

• Part time work allows teenagers to take on responsibility roles in the community.

• Sociologists report that money is the biggest motivator for part time work (McGraw – Hill Ryerson, 2010)
