India Skill Development (ISD) is an institute from Karl B. Zehnder Consulting, Zurich, Switzerland. The institute offers implementation of high-quality training in the woodworking ecosystem of India. The structure of the modular curriculum, syllabus and training is based on the Dual System of Skill Development in Switzerland. A world-class Skills Development system with a history of over 150 years.
The research, development and implementation of the Indian Dual System of Skill Development takes place according to the requirements of the woodworking sector, the culture and ecosystem in India. ISD is bringing together all interested parties in Skill Development and is planning certified Woodworking Training Centres across India. The requirements of qualified trained employees in the Woodworking Sector is high and the interest from the youngsters is low. However, if we can give the youth of India the prospect of growing in the woodworking sector, they will participate in long-term Skill Delopment Programs.

VISION“India Skill Development” provides a certified trainings system to open Woodworking Training
Centre across India with high- quality training in practice and theory. The operation of the
Training Centre is provided by the woodworking industry under financial and technical
assistance from the Supporters and Government Organisations. The curriculum and syllabus
have a modular structure & provides a 3 years fulltime Apprenticeship Certificate (
Apprenticeship), a 2 years part-time Advanced Diploma (Technical engineer) and a 1 year
part-time Master Diploma (management/ entrepreneur).
This training scheme according to the Dual System of Skill Development in Switzerland give the
woodworking industry an opportunity to grow in the Ecosystem in India & to provide jobs in all
sections with a good qualification, on the work floor, in the technical section and even in the
Management or as an Entrepreneur in a Woodworking Industry
VALUESSkill Development is a mission of society. The Industry need good trained employees
and India will generate more job options. The concept of India Skill Development will
generate interesting careers for our youngsters in the woodworking sector. For a
quality training according international standards and the requirement of the
woodworking industry we need a setup well trained Teachers and Training Staff, a
Curriculum and Syllabus according the requirement of the Industry and a good setup
of machines and infrastructure. India Skill Development offers the establishment and
expansion of the Indian Dual System of Skill Development and assumes a coordinating
and leading role.
When all interest from the owners, machine and consumables suppliers and the
Government organisations come together, we can run the
training centre’s easily.
