JANGIPUR MEGA FOOD PARK
The HUB for Food Processing in Eastern India
JANGIPUR MEGA FOOD PARK
• One stop solution for setting up food processing units in eastern India.
• Ideally located in Murshidabad district - the nucleus of
Eastern India’s food production zone.
• Promoted by Govt of West Bengal - through the State Horticulture Development Corporation - jointly with private sector promoters.
• Designed by Mott MacDonald - international engineering consultants.
JANGIPUR MEGA FOOD PARK
Sector specific Industrial Park and an integrated Food Processing Zone with:
• Comprehensive infrastructure on international standards
• Strong backward linkages to raw materials
• Forward linkages and connectivity to major markets
• Interdependencies of processing units in the Park to
reduce Capital and Operating costs and increase competitiveness
JANGIPUR MEGA FOOD PARK
Backward linkages are ensured by designing the Park on the ‘Hub & Spoke’ model comprising:
• A Central Processing Centre (CPC)
supported by
6 Primary Processing Centres (PPCs)
17 Collection Centres (CCs)
JANGIPUR MEGA FOOD PARK CPC - the Hub – at Jangipur on 250 acres in 2 phases
6 PPCs at Kandi, Shaikhpara, Barasat, Siuri, Malda Gour Road and Katwa - all within a range of about 50-100 kms –the ‘Zone of Influence’.
PPCs are fed by 3-4 CCs each (total of 17 CCs)
This model ensures:
CPC remains in control of the flow of raw material supply from within the Zone of Influence
availability of cleaned, semi processed materials, in required quality and quantity, through dedicated PPCs and CCs, for the Processing Units located in the CPC.
