JANGIPUR MEGA FOOD PARK

Backward linkages are ensured by designing the Park on the ‘Hub & Spoke’ model comprising:

• A Central Processing Centre (CPC)

supported by

6 Primary Processing Centres (PPCs)

17 Collection Centres (CCs)

Page 11: India – 2nd largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the world. Food Processing in India - Negligible India’s share in world business in Processed

JANGIPUR MEGA FOOD PARK CPC - the Hub – at Jangipur on 250 acres in 2 phases

6 PPCs at Kandi, Shaikhpara, Barasat, Siuri, Malda Gour Road and Katwa - all within a range of about 50-100 kms –the ‘Zone of Influence’.

PPCs are fed by 3-4 CCs each (total of 17 CCs)

This model ensures:

CPC remains in control of the flow of raw material supply from within the Zone of Influence

availability of cleaned, semi processed materials, in required quality and quantity, through dedicated PPCs and CCs, for the Processing Units located in the CPC.
