In celebration of Mother’s Day, Jessicurl launches Glam Slam Week; a week long series of mom makeovers. Jessicurl understands moms have busy lives with hectic schedules. So, to honor the hard work of mother’s everywhere, Jessicurl launched on April 26 Glam Slam Week. The launch took place at Jessicurl’s headquarters in midtown Manhattan. Glam Slam Week features a host of celebrity stylists who are taking on the challenge of making over moms in time for Mother’s Day. Celebrity stylists include William Amefika and Genevieve LaCroix. Amefika, a stylist for eight years, uses only Jessicurl products for his curly haired clients. “We’re looking specifically for mom’s with curly hair because they typically have the hardest time managing their mane,” said Amefika. “With the summer on it’s way, it’s easier for already dry curly hair to become even drier luckily for our mom’s Jessicurl products offer a great fix.Participants' pictures are sent in by family and friends with a short narrative on why their mom should be picked for the makeovers. A total of 20 moms are picked to participate in the week long event. “We’ve received so many submissions” said LaCroix. “I’m having fun choosing the Jessicurl products that will bring life back into their hair and their lives.Chloe Sanders, an intern in our Human Resources division, jumped at a chance to enter her mother into the Mom Makeover Contest. Chloe submitted a picture of her mother and explained how deserving her mother is of this makeover. Her mother, Marsha Sanders, a single parent with three kids owns a restaurant and is constantly on the move. With her busy schedule and rural location, she doesn’t have much time to take care , let alone pamper her self, with quality products. “My mom lives in South Carolina and doesn’t have access to products that are more high end and made specifically for her curly hair” said Sanders. “Between buying cheap drug store products and straightening her hair, my mom’s hair is really damaged.” Marsha’s makeover journey starts with a shopping spree and ends on Mother’s Day with a celebrity stylist using and showing her how to use Jessicurl products to revive her hair!

The Southwest division of Jessicurl Inc. unveiled their plans for a new eco-friendly building last Monday. Jessicurl Inc., has always been an environmentally conscious company. All of Jessicurl’s products are packaged with recycled materials and are biodegradable.

To keep in line with other “green” initiatives, Jessicurl West thought it only natural to expand to an eco-friendly building.

The new building will be the first "net-zero" building in the area, meaning it will consume less energy than it produces.

The building will be equipped with Geo-thermal heating as well as floors made out of bamboo.

The Eco-friendly building creates a precedence for other companies that may want to follow their lead.

The building’s expected completion is the summer of 2011.

In a world where long, straight and sleek hair has for years been upheld as the epitome of beauty, those born with curly hair have been abandoned by the mainstream.

Curly-haired women of all races and ethnicities have either submitted to costly and time-consuming straightening techniques or risked the alternative: cheap drugstore hair products.

But with the increased popularity of Jessicurl hair products, curly haired women have found a solution for quality hair care.

Buoyed by an emerging subculture of Jessicurlusers , united in their curl-care triumphs and defeats, natural ringlets, spirals and waves are making a comeback.

The emerging cult of curl is a response to negative perceptions of curly hair--and the lack of understanding about how to manage and style naturally wild ,curly hair into a look that's more soft and luscious.
