////////////////////// Welcome to ImmeRSe 2016 ///

I believe the future of Christian & Gospel music rests in your desire to s urrender y our talents and gifts to God’s high calling. Innovation, creativity, new relationships, open doors, fresh insight and unexpected opportunities are all in store for you this week at IMMERSE.

You’re here for a purpose; many of you have dreams you are pursuing or you’re on a road of exploration. IMMERSE is a stage set for you to develop the seed that’s planted within you and a safe place for discovery, spiritually and creatively. Every effort you’ve made to get here will be worth it.

I recommend that you soak it all in. Look past the diversity of musical styles and take advantage of the wisdom offered and like-minded people around you. Make the most of IMMERSE and its rich atmosphere. Reach out and share your story with others. Watch for divine connections and unexpected inspiration.

The GMA staff and I are here to help you have the best experience possible, feel free to call on us.

All the best,

Jackie Patillo President and Executive Director, Gospel Music Association

Development. It’s the business buzzword you hear all the time in the music world especially as we reference “Artist Development”.

As you start this conference, here is the question we want to ask - What is God developing in your heart?

Most of the time, the music business thinks about how an industry can develop something or someone. At the IMMERSE conference, our mindset is quite different. Our goal is - we want God to develop something in YOU.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:10

As you sit through this week, take lots of notes. Pray. Ask God what He is working on in your heart. What is He preparing to do? How is He going to use you in ways that you haven’t imagined? Let HIM develop YOU. Let HIM birth something fresh, new and exciting in your heart.

Our prayer is that God develops something in you that only HE can do.

Blessings,

Chris ErlansonPresident, 168 ManagementChairman, IMMERSE 2015Board of Directors Gospel Music Association

CREATE WHAT’S NEXT.As an IMMERSE attendee, you clearly want to use your gifts to God’s glory.

At Lipscomb University’s new College of Entertainment & the Arts, grow from someone with a gift into an independent, artistic entrepreneur who creates challenging and uplifting content for the marketplace, even before you graduate.

Consider a bachelor’s or master’s degrees that can include:

Learn from artists-in-residence like music producer/songwriter Charlie Peacock and writer/director Steve Taylor, both of whom have had successful careers producing creative, nationally recognized work for decades.

Plus, connect with corporate partners in the business, like the GMA, that offer must-have internships and learning experiences you likely can’t access anywhere else.

For more information, contact Dean Mike Fernandez at 615-966-5186, [email protected].
