First ILPS would like to use this opportunity to bring the new ILPS website www.ilps.org under your attention. The International Lecithin and Phospholipid Society (ILPS) was recently registered as a not-for-profit association in Cologne, Germany. Originally ILPS was incorporated in 1991 in the USA. The ILPS Board and Membership decided to transfer the Society registration to Europe, since most ILPS events are organized in Europe. ILPS consists of corporate and private members from Academia, Institutes and Industry in the Food, Cosmetic, Pharmaceutical and Technical sectors. Members representing the founding companies signed the By-laws /Statutes on September 26, 2013 as an important event for the legal registration. ILPS closely works together with the AOCS Phospholipid Division and other professional associations.

We as ILPS would like to wish you all good health and prosperity in 2014.

First ILPS would like to use this opportunity to bring the new ILPS website www.ilps.org under your attention.

The International Lecithin and Phospholipid Society (ILPS) was recently registered as a not-for-profit association in Cologne, Germany. Originally ILPS was incorporated in 1991 in the USA. The ILPS Board and Membership decided to transfer the Society registration to Europe, since most ILPS events are organized in Europe. ILPS consists of corporate and private members from Academia, Institutes and Industry in the Food, Cosmetic, Pharmaceutical and Technical sectors.

Members representing the founding companies signed the By-laws /Statutes on

ILPS closely works together with the AOCS Phospholipid Division and other professional associations.

  

The Goals of the ILPS

Promoting cooperation and exchange of ideas at international level between scientists and technologists.

Organizing and sponsoring scientific conferences, symposia, educational courses and ring trials (round robins).

Promoting standardization of materials and analytical methodology to analyze lecithin and phospholipids.

Issuing specialized relevant literature, position papers and newsletter. Promoting and managing research projects at international level.

New Board

The new elected officers in the ILPS Board for the 2013-2015 term are:

Willem van Nieuwenhuyzen was appointed for continuation as Executive Director for the coming year 2014.

Who should attend Scientists, product developers, QA/QC managers, lab technicians, application technologists, plant supervisors, sales managers and purchase managers, working with lecithins, phospholipids, emulsifiers and emulsions in food, feed, pharmaceutical, medical, cosmetic and technical sectors.

  

World class experts will present papers on various lecithin sources, production and applications in the University Conference Building, the historic gothic cloister “Het Pand” in the town center. Demonstrations of sophisticated methods of analysis, lecithin characterization and applications will be organized in the University laboratories. ILPS Topic Survey During the short course a survey will be held to identify the demand of the ILPS Members and stakeholders on topics were the ILPS is the platform to take the lead. Possible topics could be: research projects, round robin tests, method development, oxidation and lipids, fatty acids in lecithin and many more. If you should not attend the 2014 short course and you have topics to be listed please send an e-mail to [email protected] ILPS Membership ILPS is constantly seeking for new members to exchange of ideas at international level between scientists and technologists and to support the goals of ILPS. Membership in ILPS consists of natural and legal individuals (Private member) and legal registered companies (Corporate Member), interested in the aims of ILPS.
