Copies may be obtained by sending 25 cents to Michigan Guide Book Company,

Grand Rapids, Michigan .

HE primary purpose of thi s publication is to direct and so make more

expeditious, and likewise enjoyable, the sojourn of th e summer t raveler.

While the average tourist who spends a vacation among the resorts of

today is wearied by th e whirlwind of thing s to do , the fact remains

. bluntly apparent to th e most skeptical that with proper directions one

ma y spend a life-time among th e be auti es of the North and feel refre shed eve ry

part of th e period. Clearly, concisely and accurately this book will so instruct thatone may use one's time to the best advantage without cons tant inquiries of fellow

travelers . The North offers unbounded res ources for amusement, fo r the gayest

of life and th e quiet es t of rests as well. There is no occasion for th e on e desiring

the one cond ition to be thrown int o the ot he r- th e Guide Book is th e ounce of

preventi on. It s brief directions will no t on ly save th e feet of th e tourist; they will

do his h ea d work for him.

Fo r convenient refe rence T he Souven ir Guide classi fies Michigan Summer

re so rt s geographica ll y under th ree heads-Little Traverse Bay, Mackinac an d

Grand Traverse Bay Regions. Of th e first named, Petoske y is th e center in size

and importance an d number of touris ts that it entertains. Mackinac Island

occupies this pos ition with ref er ence to th e Mackin ac region, while Traverse City

is the hub of the Grand Traverse section.
