I llinois junior Angus members led 170 entries at the 2016 Illinois Junior Angus Association Field Day June 4 in Bloomington. Lydell Meier, Clinton, Tenn., evaluated six cow-calf pairs, 47 bred-and- owned (B&O) females, 93 owned females, nine B&O bulls, and 15 steers before choosing champions. Olivia Wilson, Ogden, led the supreme champion and grand champion cow-calf pair. WCC Forever Lady B4 is a January 2014 daughter of SAV Brilliance 8077. Her calf is a March 2016 bull sired by Connealy Final Product. PVF Proven Queen 2162 won reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Troy Rawlings, New Holland, owns the September 2012 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. A December 2015 heifer calf sired by PVF Spinoff 3001 is at side. Dameron Beauty 4190 was named grand champion B&O female after winning senior champion. Jack Dameron, Towanda, owns the October 2014 daughter of EXAR Lutton 1831. DDA Barbara 1457 won reserve grand champion B&O female. Reese Anderson, Chrisman, owns the September 2014 daughter of EXAR Classen 1422B. She first won reserve senior champion. PVF Blackbird 5113 claimed grand champion owned female honors. Allison Hickey, Mount Pulaski, owns the March 2015 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. She first won late junior champion. Gracia Ramp, Yates City, led the reserve grand champion owned female. Lazy H Bar Forever Lady 517 is a January 2015 daughter of Dameron First Class. She first won early junior champion. Charles Parr, Mason City, led the reserve grand champion B&O bull after first winning junior champion. Parr Undisputed 5P03 is a February 2015 son of Vision Unanimous 1418. Katelyn Eathington, Avon, led the grand champion steer. Sebree’s Classic Lut 225-957 is a February 2015 son of Dameron C-5 American Classic. PVF Insight 5066 was named reserve grand champion steer. Adam Miller, Gridley, owns the February 2015 son of PVF Insight 0129. Chase Anderson, Chrisman, was named Herdsman of the Year. Jack Dameron won Premier Exhibitor. Brandon Hickey, Mount Pulaski, won the Beryl Rutledge Memorial Work Ethic Award. Chase Anderson received the H. George Sperry Memorial Showmanship Award.

Illinois junior Angus members led 170 entries at the 2016 Illinois Junior Angus

Association Field Day June 4 in Bloomington. Lydell Meier, Clinton, Tenn., evaluated six cow-calf pairs, 47 bred-and-owned (B&O) females, 93 owned females, nine B&O bulls, and 15 steers before choosing champions.

Olivia Wilson, Ogden, led the supreme champion and grand champion cow-calf pair. WCC Forever Lady B4 is a January 2014 daughter of SAV Brilliance 8077. Her calf is a March 2016 bull sired by Connealy Final Product. PVF Proven Queen 2162 won reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Troy Rawlings, New Holland, owns the September 2012 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. A December 2015 heifer calf sired by PVF Spinoff 3001 is at side.

Chase Anderson received the H. George Sperry Memorial Showmanship Award.

Junior A showmanship was won by Reese Anderson, first place; Paige Lemenager, second place; and Reed Naughton, Atlanta, third place. Junior B showmanship was won by Hailey Boyd, Waynesville, first place; Eric Schafer, second place; and Lizzie Schafer, third place, both from Owaneco.

Intermediate showmanship was won by Lindsey Decker, Philo, first place; Benjamin Marsh, Union, second place; and Katelyn Eathington, third place. Senior showmanship was won by Kalie Rumbold, Wyanet, first place; Keegan Cassady, Bloomington, second place; and Sierra Day, Cerro Gordo, third place.

Qualifying to represent Illinois at the National Junior Angus Showmanship Contest were Chase Anderson, first place; Gracia Ramp, second place; Olivia Wilson, alternate; and Andrew Livingston, Owaneco, alternate.
