Mennonite Central Committee Special Projects

Make a direct impact on the lives of those in need by supporting these special MCC projects. Donations will be auctioned on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Girls Access to Education in Bangladesh

Girls face quite a few barriers to education in Bangladesh, including sexual harassment on their way to and from school. In recent times, the alarming number of suicides committed by young girls shook the nation. This brought the safety and security of girls attending school into question.

MCC Bangladesh, for many years, has partnered with Catholic Sis-ters to help girls get an education. Parents living in remote areas, often Indigenous families, are eager to admit their girls into board-ing schools because of the safe environment for education. However, often they are not able to pay full boarding fees and education ex-penses. MCC grants funds through your donations to the sisters to ensure girls are able to access education.

www.mcc.org/stories/girls-access-education

Provide Clean Water Around the Globe

Getting clean, reliable water has been a concern for many years in developing countries. Through your generous donations they can help in projects such as providing hygiene & sanitation education and building wells in Ethiopia; providing fi lters & pumps and build-ing wells in Mozambique; and helping to bring water to the crops in India by supplying pipes, plumbing items, and constructing gravity fl ow water systems.

2018 Iowa Mennonite Relief Sale Donors

The Relief Sale Executive Board would like to give a big thank you to all the businesses and individuals for their donations of auction items, services and gifts in kind. We would like to thank all the volunteers who put in many hours to make this sale happen. Last but not least, we thank all the individuals who come to eat, make purchases and enjoy the sale. We cannot make this a successful sale without each and everyone’s help. Thank you for your generosity!
