The City of Niagara Falls is seeking development proposals for property located at 555 39th Street (old 39th Street School), Niagara Falls, NY. The City intends to dispose of said property to qualified individual(s) and/or entity(ies) for the purpose of redevelopment or reuse.

SITE INFORMATION

ADDRESS: 555 39TH Street, Niagara Falls, NY

SIZE: approx. 6.6 acres

SBL NUMBER: 160.05-1-13

LOCATION: East side of 39Th Street, between Walnut Avenue and Ferry Avenue. The property is located two blocks from Pine Ave, approximately one mile from I-190 inter-changes and the North Grand Island Bridge.

PROPETY STATUS: Vacant Land

ZONING: R3-C Multifamily

FULL MARKET ASSESSMENT: $118,352.94

HISTORY OF PROPERTY: The property is the site of the former 39th Street elementary school. The Niagara Falls Board of Education sold the property to a private developer in 1980,

which in turn renovated the building for a child clothing manufacturing. A few years later the business closed and the building was abandoned, subsequently a fire destroyed the gym area. The City acquired through in-rem tax foreclosure in October, 1984 and it has remained vacant since.
