For what are you grateful? Alliana - I’m grateful for my teacher because she is pretty. Melanie – I’m grateful for this whole school and my friends because every day we get to learn something new and I have fun every day. Michael – I’m grateful for my family because the take care of me. Lauren – I’m grateful for my family because my mom gave birth to me. Jaden – I’m grateful for my family and the food on my plate because I’m lucky to have my family because some people don’t have a family. I’m grateful for food because some people don’t have food. Our FSUSD Student of the Month Ella Duley

Ella Duley was honored this month as one of the school district’s Student of the Month for the month of December. She was supported at the board meeting by her dad, mom, two sisters, and her grandparents. Ella was one of three kids in the school district to win an award. Ella has been in the Student Council for three years, and this year she is the president of Student Council. Ella has helped out our school, community, and her friends. She has picked up trash at the playground and around Rolling Hills, and last year, donated her hair to Locks of Love to help out kids with cancer. Ella is a great kid and we are so happy for her. She is so deserving of this award!

Q. Why do you like being a kindergarten teacher?

A. I like being a kindergarten teacher because I get to spend my days

with great and sweet kids that are just now learning.

Q. What do you teach the kids in class?

A. I teach beginning writing, beginning reading, & beginning math.

Q. What do you like to do out of school?

A. I like to be with my family and go to soccer and baseball games.

Q. What’s your favorite part of REACH?

A. My favorite part of REACH is happiness.

A. The rule is to respect the rights and property of others.

Q: What is your favorite element in REACH? A: Happiness is my favorite element of REACH. I believe you should always stay positive. Q: What is your favorite part about Rolling Hills? A: I like REACH and how it affects the entire school. Q: What have you done to impact your community? A: When I lived in Dublin, when the tsunami hit Japan , my Japanese school raised money for Japan by selling food, clothes and other items. Q: Do you like doing any after school activities? A: I enjoy golf and just relaxing.

Q: What is your favorite school subject and why? A: I like math because you learn a lot of fun things and my favorite standard is multiplication and division. Q: What are your hobbies? A: I like to read and play outside or play video games. Q: What is your favorite book and what genre? A: I like the Magic Tree House Series because I like fantasy. Q: What is your favorite part of REACH? A: I like effort because I like to work and I like to see others work, too. Q: What do you want to be when you grow up? A: I would like to be an architect and design Structures.

NBA Dec 4th On December 4th, in the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Denver Nuggets. The score was 98-88. Kyrie Ir-ving had the most points this game, with 23 points, fol-lowing with 4 assists and 2 rebounds. Another game was the Dallas Mavericks against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Mavericks beat the Pelicans by three. The score was 100-97. Dirk Nowitzki had an outstanding 21 points, fol-lowing with 3 assist and 7 rebounds. The Los Angles Clippers lost by ten to the Atlanta Hawks. The score was 107-97. Paul Millsap had 25 points that game, following with 6 assist and 9 rebounds. Now that is your December 4th NBA news.

NBA Dec 7th On Dec 7th, in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzles for the first time this year. The Warriors beat the Grizzles by 26. The score was 108-82. Another blow out game was when the Miami Heat beat the Minnesota Timber wolves. The Heat won by 21. The score was 103-82. What was close to a blow-out was when the Denver Nuggets beat the Philadelphia 76ers. The Nuggets beat the 76ers by 11. The score was 103-92. Now that is your NBA December 7th news.

Sports Heisman Trophy

Winner: Jameis Winston was the red shirt freshman out of Flor-ida State University who had stats like a pro. He threw 35 touchdowns and had 3,728 yards. Jameis had some obstacles in front of the Heisman and school, but still powered threw all of the things and still was successful. Jameis also led his team to the BCS Bowl. A.J McCarron: A.J McCarron was the senior out of Alabama that had won three BCS titles strait with them. Even though Au-burn made it past them in the Iron Bowl, that didn’t stop him. A.J had 26 touchdowns and 2,676 yards. Tre Mason: Tre Mason was the junior out of Auburn that was the number 1 running back in SEC. Tre also was able to slip past Alabama’s great defense. Tre had 22 rushing touchdowns and ran for 1,621 yards on the ground. Johnny Manziel: Johnny Manziel was the sophomore out of Texas A&M that had won the Heisman the year before. Johnny’s stats went down just a little, but they were still good. Johnny had 32 touchdowns and 3,732 passing yards. Jordan Lynch: Jordan Lynch was a speedy QB out of Northern Illinois. He had 23 touchdowns, and had 2,676 yards. Andre Williams: Andre Williams was the senior out of Boston College. Andre had a great season coming of an injury. Andre almost got to the Heisman, but Jameis and A.J got ahead. Andre had 17 touchdowns and 2,102 yards on the ground.

With the MLB season over, the big news now is offseason trades, moves, and signings. The big name free agents are drop-ping off the list like flies and to different teams than expected. Jacoby Ellsbury went to the Redsox’s rival, the Yankees, with a 7 year $153 million agreement. Yankees second baseman, Rob-inson Cano, went west to the emerald city of Seattle with a large contract, as well. Other big names such as Curtis Granderson and Carlos Beltran have gone to New York, and Granderson went to the Mets, as Beltran agreed to the Yankees.
