File Corruption – Files can become corrupt due to power failure, turning off the computer without shutting it down properly, a virus, outdated drivers, bad software installation, and so on. If they are corrupt, they will not open.

Disk Crashes – If your system becomes unstable, you will start to receive error messages and eventually it may crash. Sometimes, restarting or rebooting will fix it. If the problem is more severe, you might need to upgrade or reinstall the operating system.
